Time to switch

Firefox has quite a long pause before a download is initiated, and my midi and quicktime players crash the whole damn thing sometimes.
But ... when it re-opens it startsup in exactly the same place.
It (Firefox) is beginning to feel like bloatware though, where opera still feels slim and sleek.
I don't like Opera simply because I cannot tell if it's busy.

No thanks - I'll stick to safari/webkit.

Lol. Looks like I will have to be the one to say, "Yay! Firefox! Yay!" It is much better than version 2...

The link provided is for a download of FF2, not 3 which is the version featured in the article. Could not find a download link for FF3. So how does one switch then?

Same here, also Opera doesnt show all pages nicely. Hoping that more IE people switch. IE7 breaks standards so much that it's a nightmare to work with. Sooner people change the better.

Funny how a simple URL search it the highlight, rather than being the first FF to do the 2nd acid test correctly, and the new download manager. (although takes a second or two to start). And the way firefox notifies and manages SSL sites is better to.

FF3 still in beta

Firefox 3 is still in beta, so you won't find it on the main site. Also most of your extensions wont' work with the beta version - you can force them to work with nightly tester tools however, but it's not recommended for inexperienced users.

You can get the beta from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

BTW whats with all the opera fans on this page, opera is ok...firefox is great

Regards

People still use IE?

Unfortunately, we are forced to keep IE lurking on our PCs because there are so many non-compliant sites out there that only work (im)properly on the non-compliant IE browser.

Otherwise, Firefox it is.

In my experience the only pages Opera doesn't render properly are those "optimised" for IE. ie: pages that are broken by design.

Opera 9 passed the Acid 2 test.
