iPhone 3G pricing details

Bit pricey, but certainly up there with what was speculated.

Must say, the R1,50 per MB out of bundle is not cool - 250 MB is not very much! At least they include the bundle - phone would be kind of useless without.

Oh well - people at Vodaworld didn't seem to mind too much (the way they were buying the phone!)

250MB??? woah.. thats a little.

ps. i wonder if he is still married to Allegra Cole ;)

So with the subsidised option it looks like the 16gig is the way to go.

24*109 = 2616
- 2189 = R427 for 8gig

24*149=3576
- 3299 = R277 for 16gig

Whoa thats a tad steep. Personally, I've got a touch, and really cannot see the benefit in spending another R6300

At least were not being charged an arm and a leg for the thing. Just an arm. :D

We knew it was going to be expensive but at least its out now...

What a rip off. R300 (for talk 120) + R160 (250 MB Databundle) = R460.
So their new price plan saves you a whole R10.... And they are baseing the pay-in amount just on the cost of the Talk 120.

They should have included at least the 500MB Databundle. The standard price for that is only R29 more than the 250 MB Databundle.

Personally I think the packages are not bad considering what Voda could have charged.

My worry is that there's no white 16GB, what's up with that?

White Macbook, White Mighty Mouse, White iPhone, is that too much to ask :D

Hmmm lame what if you don't need the data?

It's an iPhone, if you don't need the data, you don't need the phone. Pricing isn't too bad. I'm grabbing my second one this evening.

Hilarious watching all the opinions here, almost as funny as the BMW vs Audi vs Merc comments over at wheels24!

I think its over rated and overpriced. I will stick with my E51. with a 4 gig card, wifi and 3G, its half the price with a small non touchscreen. I would even rather go for the Ericsson P1. At that price, you can get a decent phone, a decent contract, and heck! maybe an ipod! They should also trow in insurance at that price, cos in this country, that phone will be as wanted for theft as a Cresida in the 90's

I agree you need the data. But I'd rather have a choice to how much I would like to load. 250MB is just too little for me, with no way to load another bundle during the month and with a R1.5 p/MB out of bundle rate it's going to get pricy.

I'll just buy it on prepaid. Much easier. Then I can do whatever contract I want.

The South African version of the iPhone is not network locked.

Great. Has anyone tried it on MTN yet? Is there a catch somewhere? Do you have to be Vodacom subscriber to get to the apps site etc?
