Wireless Gaming: Neotel

Anybody know the price diffs between the neoflex and adsl services?
closest comparison?

either or, that article doesnt say much... latency is still crap.. and i dont trust the testing, until i c it for my own eyes.

Haha. But I can play COD2 on my HSDPA...
Saying the latency is low enough for MMORPGs really isn't saying much at all

One of the biggest perceived limitations of wireless internet is that it does not provide low enough latencies for online gaming.
Nicely put. But with [-]lactose[/-] latency intolerant toddlers perception is all they go by.

As far as i know NeoFlex prices have not been released but they will have a similar pricing structure as NeoLite / NeoPrime. However NeoFlex will not have an uncapped option.

While Neoflex gets close to acceptable performance in online first person shooters, it is still left wanting and is not a suitable replacement to an ADSL line.

So, perception and their results == the same and yet you still want to argue the point Rouxenator? By what defective logic do you even have a leg to stand on?

NEOFLEX kicks ass, that it has pings of only 2ms, you get 30MBs download speeds and is uncapped all for R99.99

And, even better, if you behave this year kids Santa and his friendly Reindeer will even install it for you.

the pings that they say they are getting on the wow servers is far lower than I get on my unshaped telkom 4MB adsl account, I get 700-1100 mostly

Ohrly? I always thought it was games that were overrated - not maths... :p

Dude, why don't you like wireless? It's the technology of the future and so much better than old school wired stuff.

C'mon man, get with the program.

And btw, games suck, only kids play them. Grow up k?

This is all good and well. I sometimes get 305ms ping in WoW using 3G. But MOST OF THE TIME it is between 1500ms and 2000ms.

So I KNOW I could get good pings, but I get bad ones. That sucks even more.

That is the problem with Wireless. It is not perceived, it is real. When your tower gets congested your service sucks badly. And since there is a tower that covers your area, the big companies don't care about you. They won't install more towers to "over cover" your area, they would rather catch new fools with new towers.

So get NeoFlex while the towers are uncongested, but don't come crying a year from now when your pings spike all the time, page loads are interrupted and the internet as a whole sucks.

Wireless != the answer. Copper and Fiber = the answer.

Couldn't agree more!

Dude - I have wireless and love it - and I don't play games online (ok sometimes on N-Gage) but not on computers.

I think we are in the same boat.
majority of gamers are adults...
Hence the current state of the world....

Copper == telegraph technology.
Wireless == the future of the last mile.

Both of them are the answer.
The one is just a more dated answer....

There have been so many reviews and comparisons of NeoFlex, but yet there is no price and no expected date when one can get it.

Rouxenator, I don't understand why you prefer copper over wireless. It's so obvious that wireless is the superior technology.

And ngage, man, I thought you were more mature than that :(
