Afternoon peeps,

Sold my h81,i5 4460 and 16 gb DDR3 barebones kit....
Last night ordered AMD 2600 CPU,GSkill 16 gb DDR4 3000Mhz RAM,MSI B450 M2-V2 Mobo and FSP 550W Hydro MX PSU.

1. Now....coupled with 8gb MSI RX580 Gaming X,will it cause a bottleneck?
2. I can't see the RAM on MSI Memory Vendor List, will it be a problem?
3. Is the PSU any good as I can't get a good review but the company has been around for 25 years?
4. Is the barebones kit good from a gaming perspective?Asking cause I was looking at i5 9400 and almost started a war
because of the Intel vs AMD CPU debate with friends of mine...

Your input would be appreciated.

1) No bottleneck at all.
2) Yes it will work.
3) Not familiar with FSP.
4) It's good for gaming.

2 - You will know when you try it out, RAM and gen 2 is generally really weird. At worst the RAM will be throttled down to 2666 and be unstable at anything higher.
4 - Depends on the game, if you want to stream it will be meh.

1. Don't think so

2. It's a yes and no, and if I'm honest I am wondering what the outcome will be. My parents RAM is on the QVL for their motherboard, and I can only get it stable at 2666. You should have got RAM on the QVL to be safe. I forsee pain in your future. Ryzen is extremely fussy with RAM. If you are not too late, it might be easier to send it back and get some RAM that'll work with no issues.

3. It has 80+ bronze certification. That's what I look for. Should be fine really.

4. You're getting a CPU with the same number of cores that's slightly less powerful which costs 25%+ less than the Intel chip. That's a win.

You already ordered and now you ask questions, what's the point really?

No cpu bottleneck with 580.

What ram, we can't smell which g.skill ram you purchased? Ram is important with ryzen.

The Super Flower SF-550F14MT psu would be a better buy in that price range.

The MB looks crappy based on the power delivery circuitry, ASRock B450 PRO4 is much better & in the same price range.

Some links to what you purchased would help.

There is always something that will cause a bottleneck. With an RX580 it is unlikely to be the CPU, unless you game at 720P and have a 240hz display.
