Ok, so now the next challenge - how do I go about finding the best spot ito 3G signal in my house? Is there some sort of signal meter I can download. I have a Huawei E173 on a MacBook Pro. Would be cool if I could walk around the house with my laptop scouting for best signal.

Hi again guys,

I just got myself the MR 3220 and had a question:

I just downloaded the latest firmware and installed it (3.12.8 Build 110418 Rel.43954n) and was wondering if this includes all the previous updates?

Thanks

I got that same router last week and it came with that firmware already installed. I think you just reinstalled the existing firmware.

Ok. I think I found the best position for the router. Not sure what the dBm reading is, but the web interface registers 93% signal strength. I'm guessing that's probably as good as I'm going to get it?

8ta E367 with WNRT-617G 3g router

Ok for all the people out there just got the Planet WNRT-617G

Works wonderfully with the cell c black dongle :)

I am interested in buying the WNRT-617G but I'm not sure if its compatible with the huawei E367 from 8ta?
Do you guys know if this will work?

I'm not sure if it works off hand (probably) but the router does have an option that you can upload a .bin file configuration so you can use USB modems that are not supported by default.

Just got myself the Huawei B683 router - and what a beauty it is!!

Struggled myself senseless to get my Asus PCE-N13 802.11n network card to connect via wi-fi to the router, at a faster speed than 54Mbps. Finally got it working at 150Mbps, when I used AES encryption instead of TKIP. Apparently TKIP has a 54Mbps limitation. Guess my Asus wi-fi card sucks balls, cos it should be 300Mbps. Oh well, 50Mbps faster than my LAN connection.

Very happy with this baby and getting 5Mbps + speeds on 8ta's network with it. :)

Quick question: I have the ASUS RT-N56U and it is working great. I noticed that on the TP-Link routers the cell c connection settings uses a username (Cellcis) and password. When I set up my router I just left the username and password blank and it still woks.

What is the password for the cellcis use? Can anyone give me the recommended connection settings or are the standard internet apn and blank username and pw correct?

ok...so i got the TP-LINK MR 3020 today. To go with My E367 (8ta)
Plugged the sucker in when i got home.

Struggled to get it going. But finally seemed to succeed.
Now that i have got it going its dropping the connection all the time and is rather slow when it is connected.

Plugged the E367 back into the laptop and speeds are flying again.
Are their any known speed bumps with this setup?

I have done the "bandwidth control" enable that people on the MR3420 have had to do with no real effect.
