7.2 Mbps HSDPA with bandwidth rollover

Vodacom3G, I do apologise if this question was asked before. But if you can't offer a stable connection currently to me or anybody in my area what is the point by upgrading to 7.2 what what. Surely some form fixing of the foundations\basic first should be in order.

I agree with you Grubscrew. But I was told it's backhaul in my area.

Which seems to be the entire Randburg.

And if the pricing does cover a device, then surely the numbers have also been worked to cover a VAS rate.
I now refer to the green highlighted section above:
So there is a VAS included into this rate?
I understood it was now law that the breakdown of a monthly subscription is shown, i.e. itemized billing, device subsidy, tariff subscription, etc.
Does that only apply to voice products?
The "up to 60 days" part is still going to screw over the majority of users whom are not vigilant about their usage
I think so too, it seems like both MTN & Vodacom have just made this month's month end problem, next month's month end problem.

On prepaid your bundle previously expired 30 days after purchase, so that could be any day of the month, depending on when you bought it. Now all contract and prepaid bundles will expire at month end creating month-end chaos once again by people trying to finish their bundles.

Why can't we just get a normal 3GB for R489? and a 5GB for R689? I mean between the 2GB and 3GB there is no saving at all.

Yep if they made their higher-end packages cheaper a lot of people would buy bigger bundles - and at R489 they would have given MTN a massive undercut

I for one was hoping for that - not all this confusing nonsense.

LOL @ Vodashops trying to explain all this to people signing contracts - Big Queues here we come!

Got no idea where you area is.....

Home Centurion - Pierre van Ryneveld
Work Heidelberg

Both Areas have problems and considering that I am 100m away from the vodacom tower at home. I suspect to many users not enough service available.

How do the 'restructuring' of products from Vodacom impact on existing customers?? I have a MyMeg 500 contract (R249 a month), would the new changes have any benifits for me??

Vodacom CEO Pieter Uys made it clear that this is merely a first step in the company’s quest to provide more value to consumers.
This had better be! I signed up on the Vodacom network back in 1999 and while the best part of the 10 years on their network was good - recently I am utterly ashamed of Vodacom.

How dare they think this "new offering" is something to even mention !!! Did you look at the rates?! Even the in-bundle rates - insanely expensive.

Also why only now that someone else offers monthy roll over (probably not even indefinately) does Vodacom offer the same thing? Is it fun to milk customers for as long as possible? Something you learned while in bed with telkom?

Vodacom, you can do much, much better than this - this is an insult to consumers. Speed is NOT everything. In SA the prime focus is on c/MB - and at that Vodacom sucks pretty badly (and so do the other mobile operators).

So in summary:

A month or so ago we had a set of data rates, no roll-over and no 7.2. You had to pay extra for 3.6.

Now we have:

- Broadband Standard with the normal rates, 3.6 included and roll-over.

- Broadband Advanced with flat rate data, 7.2 and roll-over.

Aha i knew it.
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?p=2667149#post2667149

So roll-over is on both BBS and BBA. And this before Seacom. I think it`s great.
Will our existing packages automatically migrate to the new rules?

ok so why did my current data bundle just expire, just lost 600 MB of data? I am using BB-S
I thought prepaid on BB-S will also "roll over" for 60 days?

I have a samsung G800, and im on business top up. But only get the standard 3G speeds. :( But im told 3.6 is available in my area. *sigh*

A quick question

Say i get a prepaid data bandel and use it up. how long will the OOB rate apply after my bundel in the BB-A if i have a lot of money loaded on it before hand?

think it's till the end of your "next month". I think the expensive OOB kicks in after the "60" days, otherwise you could buy 1 single bundle and keep loading airtime and pay a cheap OOB :p

Vodacom4me confusion...

I will not comment on the "value" of the new Standard vs Advanced service, but would PLEASE ask vodacom3g to instruct the powers that be to add a 2nd column with the Out of Bundle rates to vodacom4me (for standard and advanced). YES I do see they say for advanced IB = OOB, and standard IB =NOT OOB, but the majority of people don't know the values (and will not understand it)... SHOW the cost clearly:

My mother in law will constantly phone ME now asking:

1) should she buy the standard or the advanced (there are so many NEW choices now)...
2) What is the out of bundle costs for standard?

So by adding a 2nd column for Out of Bundle costs, you will save me (and many other sons in law) a lot of trouble...

OR just state that for Standard the Out of Bundle rate is R2.00

PS: I know it is stated here: but it looks different on the page where you can actually buy the data bundles:

Yes, you'll get roll over and 3.6 on your contract.

You can also migrate to BB-A, if you feel it'll be more benificial.

Remember, first to 'publish' a product is not neccessarily the same as being the first to actually develop it. ;)
In SA the prime focus is on c/MB.
Exactly why we dropped the OOB c/MB rate so drastically (between 50 and 80%) with BB-A.

Maybe we should not use the terms IB and OOB at all in BB-A?
