A week with Apple ...

Why would you do that?

Sure, it's magnetic, but that doesn't mean you need pry the phone from the charger. Lift the phone and the charger drops away.
That must be some newer MagSafe. The ones I saw on YouTube the phone was still attached to the MagSafe when you picked it up.

Handy if you want to use your phone while it's charging I guess, but no, picking my phone up isn't a two handed exercise.

TIL that just putting my phone down at night was cautiously planning these things.

Well I must be a horrible planner then, as I didn't bother plugging mine in last night. It's currently on 13%, for sh1ts and giggles I'm going to charge it now for 20mins and see how far I can get during the day with regular usage.

Mine charges when I connect to CarPay so I can't do that experiment.

Damn!

You *and* SauRoNZA?

Does this mean I have to let the phone battery run flat, dig up a USB cable and fast charge now too?

Interesting.

Are you able to acknowledge anything wrong or mediocre at all? If you really stretch yourself, can see that not everything is 100% super amazing?

I'm not sure if I fit in the club then. But maybe in time...
I have had 3 iPhones in the last 7-8 years. Never had them long. Can't get into the whole IOS thing. Maybe because I don't complicate my life with tech kak that people seem so obsessed with lately. Using a Motorola Android phone that is 4 years old and suits me fine. My daughter who is working in the USA at the moment has sent me a Motorola Defy which will suit me because of it's IP86 rating and MIL-SPEC 810H compliance as I'm outdoors a lot and tend to leave phones lying around in the rain.

Hell of a week, well done on surviving it, hopefully it gets better from here

sjoe. this is a very strange thread of overly defensive IOS owners and "bitter android owners"... still entertaining. its a damn phone lol.
Ya, these threads always seem to only go one way.
Watching because I'm considering a transition to iOS, looking out for what to consider.
Here we are though, 5 pages in and we can't get past fast charging.

This thread reminds me of my Macbook thread. You say something negative about your own Macbook and you get called all sorts of things.
No in that case I just use the PEBKAC acronym and be done with it.

Admittedly I don't own a fast charger, however I don't really get the issue. Battery life on most modern phones is good enough that a 15 minute charge should be sufficient to last you a long time - certainly long enough to find a charge point.

I just charge in my car if I need to, but I don't see how fast charging is a make-or-break issue.

irony is. the excessive fanboism is actually a detterant

You'll get it when they release a 50W+ USB-C iPhone fast charging. Clip me.
