Telkom has the following :
Netgear N300 DGN2200 @ R839
DLink DSL-2750U @ R689
Makro has
Billion N73X @ R799
Linksys WAG120N @ R749
Billion N150 @ R699

I use the modem for home / small business at home with 3 laptops and couple of cellphones.
I think the Telkom routers has 3g fall over.
I wonder if any modem will allow "hot swapping" of multiple ADSL accounts to say Mweb, Telkom etc. I have more than one adsl account to fall back on.

I do not want to buy anything on mail order. I want to pay for the thing on the spot.

Please asdvise.
Telkom tech says Dlink. Thanks

I recently got the Netgear N300 DGN2200, and I'm very happy with it. Although it doesnt have the 3G failover but ADSL account swapping is easy.

One of advantage of the Telkom products is that the Telkom Direct shops are very good at swopping them out if the techies think there could be a problem with them.

You can do the same with any other router, it's called a waaaaah raaaaan teeeeee :p

There are quite a lot of good ones. The one piece of advice I can give is not to buy a combination modem/router.
If a lightning strike does take your modem out you have to replace the entire package. If you have separate ones its a R200+ replacement. I had a strike blow my surge protector and my modem a while ago. My router was fine. Took 45 minutes to go get a new one and configure it. Not even worth the insurance claim.

I have the old Telkom VWR200 ADSL router, would it make any difference if i get a newer modem. I am on ADSL 1m uncapped.

shows this as the connection type in the routers settings

Operational Mode G.Dmt
Annex Type ADSL2A
