Good Day,
So i moved up to a new place here in pretoria ~2 months back, used telkom DSL checker, 10meg supported exchange (thought woohoo right?) wrong, i was on 2mb for a month, was okay, i decided to up to a 4meg, telkom then told me my line speed of 4mbps was unatainable due to "poor quality copper", 2 days later i used telkom checker again and my "10mbps" support changed to "unable to calculate line speed available", but whatever, i sync at different speeds all the time even though they said 3850kbps was my max, i go anywhere from 1900 to 3650 when it really wants to.
after doing some research with my telnet, i saw some interesting info, i was wondering if anyone knows if there is margin on something i can set to improve my line,
my setup: netgear DGND3700V2 with a repeater WRT54GL running DD-WRT on repeater mode and DHCP server is handled by my linksys instead of the main router, thus reducing its load tenfold.
I do get the speed intended from my repeater, good odd 17ms ping and speed of DSL depends on how much my exchange wants to give me -_-
anyway the other day i unlocked my netgear for telnet, started to play around with SNR's and so on, and to no surprise using another SNR synced my full 4mb (4096k), but i do get CRC errors now and then (no line drops however unless my SNR is lower than 20).
my question is, can anyone suggest advice to me (other than another router cause i have 5 routers and i have the same results with all of them) my netgear produces best results, example bitswap on off, trellis on off, etc, what do you think would be best?
yes i do have the adsl line split correctly from the phone lines, i have done plenty troubleshooting already, i am at the best possible setup it seems, though any suggestions to try are more than welcome!

Any suggestions welcome, and maybe this info could help others with their terrible lines
