I deleted my previous post as I thought I would give afrihost the benefit of the doubt and a chance to fix the issue.
But after 3 days of no data it is clear that no one cares and people need to be made aware of the lack of service.
I have paid for minutes and data every month for almost a year even though I have not used it as I was overseas. I am now back in sa and when I landed my data was not working even though I had full signal. After logging the issue and a couple of hours it started working again.
Not even a week later, poof, data stops working again. I have now logged the issue through every available channel and am just being pushed from one person to the next, issued a reference number and forgotten about.
So I am spending my holiday trying to troubleshoot afrihost‘s network issues. At this rate I will be out of the country again by the time this is fixed.
Of course it’s wonderful since I cannot use navigation on my phone, receive any WhatsApp’s or emails from my clients or do anything that you normally do when you PAY FOR DATA!!
I actually suspect that this is a ploy to try and get me to use my international sim so they can bill me at €15/mb!!
I have been a client of MTN for 25 years and Afrihost since they started and still is what you get for your loyalty.
Well guess what, that’s gonna change. And not only will the number be ported, I will also cancel the 4 hosting and email contracts, about 10 other numbers, fibre contracts and every other service I have with afrihost.
Cheers.
