Afrihost being sabotaged?

Damage to his reputation ? The 31 emails clearly show his staff are inept.

Facts are;

1. Afrihost staff are incapable of offering a reasonable level of service.
2. I am the cost of transferring the domains over to another hosting service, out of pocket.
3. I might lose my investors due to the delay.
4. I have had to endure a torrent of abuse from voicing my complaints.

I'm happy with the performance and service levels of Afrihost.

Big up to Gian and his team!

Ok... I figure I'm going to pipe up on this one again....

Facts are :
1. You started a thread about Afrihost no longer accepting prepaid ADSL, which is incorrect.. they do have prepaid ADSL. What you REALLY meant though is that they don't accept EFTs and this irritates you, but that you are also unable to read plain english because they state they don't accept EFTs.
2. You ordered an Email Domain package and then assumed you could do normal domain activities like parking on it, without actually CHECKING first.
3. You have had to endure a torrent of rational people who can read telling you to learn to read. Its not abuse, its a life lesson. HTFU.
4. If you lose your investors over a 4 day delay (and not 4 BUSINESS days either), then they probably were nervous of your idea in the first place. You should also be open with your investors that you were unable to read T&C's AND you were relying on a "free" gift to do the domain pointing. I'm sorry but as an investor if I found out somone was doing that, I'd walk away.
5. Afrihost support might not be able to provide you with the level of service you think is acceptable, but then I don't know how they ever could since you seem to be incapable of reading basic English.

+1

Having worked support, I've seen the above play out many times before!!

We used to call it CRTSML - Can't Read To Save My Life Syndrome!!!

If you really were serious about signing up these investors, surely you would have done enough research and made sure implementation was complete before making your proposal? Or are you just a small time businessman looking to make a quick buck with some free domain offering??

Next time, rather think Inside The Box...

I likes that..... Inside the box.... but even that possibly escapes it.

Show me another ISP where the CEO bothers to post or interact with the community.

The above argument has no relevance. It's a moot point.

We have Jannie (iBurst), Laurie (Cybersmart), Neethi (SAOL), and also reps from WebAfrica, Screamer, DigiChilli, OpenWeb, Mweb, Neotel, iBurst and several other ISPs as well.

Just becauase Gian responds on these forums in person, doesn't make him a God. There are other CEOs that respond too, and frankly, I couldn't care less if the CEO or the janitor responded to my query, as long as it got sorted out by some company representative, in an amicable, knowledgable and swift manner.

So having a CEO respond on these forums is great (well done Gian and the rest), but not Godly, as some myBB forumites think. All we need is some form of company representative active on these forums. Just because the CEO of a company chooses to respond, it doesn't make the company any better than another company. What counts is firstly whether the company responds or not, how quickly they respond, and how quickly issues are sorted out...

remembering a few years back how ungodly it was to say anything wrong about openweb and how one would have been crusified for it, but openweb has gone quiet for a time now. haven't seen anything new and radical from them apart from downstorm.

thinking about your mentioned list Jannie been talking cats and dogs about his "legal" tower, screamer and digichilli about their networking issues and how it's being fixed finally wa about steam and things to come.

can't say much about the rest like cybersmart and saol...

I asked Gian if there was any other way to pay for ADSL other than CC or direct debit, he said NO.

31 emails was not an attempt to check first ?

I will be visiting the small claims court in Pinetown, I will be issuing a summons against Gian, he will have to appear in person and answer questions from the magistrate without a lawyer, they are not allowed. I will keep this thread posted.

I also see this thread as an accusation that I work for another ISP and am attempting to "sabotage" Afrihost, when in fact the problem is Afrihost staff are inept at doing business in reasonable manner.

/clears schedule

The only issue I had was when I opened a prepaid account and had 15% data missing, I was told this was pro rata but this never made sense to me considering that it was prepaid and valid for a year.

1. What are you going to sue him for?

2. As said previously, this thread is not aimed towards you.

The hole just gets deeper.

Also interested to hear from an SA law expert, whether Gian publishing the hellopeter complaints against his competitors in response to a complaint against his own company is against SA law ?

Anyone ?

And after he said no in terms them accepting anything other than CC and Debit order you felt the need to start a thread slating them for a business decision that enables them to keep costs lower?

Did you order and THEN send the 31 emails.. or send the 31 emails prior to ordering? You do understand the concept of checking don't you? Its something that happens prior to doing something not after the fact.

What exactly are you going to sue Afrihost in the small claims court for? They made a mistake and refunded you, you have no monetary claim against them anymore.

Who has accused you of working for another ISP, quote the posts if you please or is this you showing your inability to read again?
