Well, it did... I cannot even send emails to customers. Again.

It has improved slightly now:

This is the same problem I have ,although the south is still waiting its update, during the day the speed is pathetic, with pings of over 400ms to local servers. I have had to go to the local coffee shop to use their free wifi to at least send emails.

There is something else very wrong with this network. I will be doing more test later, but that all I seem to be doing these days. Even my cleaning lady knows how to run speed tests these days I do it so often.

Yeah, capacity seems to have done nothing in the north. That's why I was so skeptical regarding this being the only problem - you can't just assume that nothing else is wrong and hope for the best.

But what do we clients know? We're just a bunch of dumbasses, right? ;)

We listen to our clients very closely, but we also have to balance that feedback based on the various tests and responses we get through all different channels. I think network performance will continue to improve, this has been my experience in the past, but at some we'll also go back to the normal day to day issues of running a network.

Just give us the "guaranteed full line speed 24/7" that Afirihost guarantees us who are paying a premium for on Business Uncapped accounts. Case closed.

No idea what you mean by the last part. You can word it like you want, but at the end of the day, a customer only sees what he's getting in reality, and when it doesn't match the promise provided, it will annoy them, especially if the duration gets longer and longer.

Anyway, you wanted more tests, besides my speedtest and traceroute tests, so here's one that reflects pretty much what I'm experiencing in realtime.

1.2Mbps:

And then directly after - 0.6Mbps:

Anything else you may need?

What I mean is that nice we've addressed a major issue like an upgrade, we also need to start looking at individual issues and not assuming that every poor speedtest means that the network is broken. We need to troubleshoot every issue methodically and use real data to replicate issues that are reported.

We don't like using different broadband tests as a measure. Even speedtest has flaws, but it much more widely accepted because those limitations are known.

So do it then. I've been speaking to you the whole week, yet we're still at square 1.

Or that you heavily prioritise Speedtest.net because you can, and it makes your service look better than it really is. Of course, I have no proof, and you're far from the only ISP that does it. But there really is no harm in using a different method/site - the results should really be similar. But they're not. Somewhere there needs to be a reason for that.

Back on topic: any way we can get to the bottom of this, ASAP, please?

:wtf:

Are you consistently seeing those spikes on hops 8 and 10?

Seriously, this is getting pretty damn aggravating now........

Before 8am it was flying along at 5.4Mb, and now the usual BS starts once more.

Switched over from AH to another provider on the 25th... my speedtest on our 10mbps ADSL line this morning:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 12868 kbps (1608.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 696 kbps (87 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 21 ms
2014/10/31, 8:44:32 AM

Lovely!

So, any excuses this time why your network sucks donkey gonads AGAIN today?

Our reports are showing performance in the North should be stable. I think we'll need to troubleshoot why you are experiencing poor speeds. We've seen the guest account show misleading info, so we need to do more methodical tests to see why you are having a poor experience.
