Everything is running awesome for me at the moment. Youtube streaming at 720p without any issues, Can almost stream 1080p! Pings are good. Downloads good. So I am a happy chappy at the moment. Thanks for the hard work so far guys. Hoping it stays like this! Cheers

Ok, you got me .... I didnt cancel .... :o

But I am sure AH is going to sort this out ... after all everyone else has the ''guts'' to cancel, so they have plenty time to work on my account.

This ticket GWZ-123-27725 has been open since Tue, 21 Oct 2014 at 06:16.

Upto now AH has blamed ... the port 3 times and the IPC issue once, and at one point the speed looked good.

Speeds are stable, but still substandard. Its a 4Mbps account......

Please may I ask that is SORTED OUT.

Thanking you kindly

Gutless

Our upgrades for the South will be in place very soon, our users in the South should see significant improvements in all ADSL-related services not long after the upgrade is completed.

I know it has been a tough-time for many of our clients, and I really do appreciate the patience and understanding that has been shown to us during this time. Getting you the speeds that you need is our top most priority. :)

Can you PM me? Let me find out what's been happening here :(

I don't have your PM - hope it's on the way :)

So I sent the thread, .....it took 4 PMs it was so long.

We wre going to sort this, whatever it takes ..... you said ....

Is Durban broken again ?

Can't see much wrong here, what speeds are you seeing?

Afrihost has become useless for gaming, going to test another isp and will shortly be leaving them, a shame really have been with them for 5 years now.

Not great to hear at all :(
Have you run any tests with our team to determine where any issues are coming from?

Afriguy,

Last night I contacted you regarding my poor line speed. After you recreated my port, it was still very poor.
Anyways, got hold of Critical Care quoting my ticket number in the subject - this has been an ongoing fight since 25 October.
Anyways, sent some speedtests, tracerts, ran around some circles and jumped through some hoops. Said I would send more in the morning.
Got a reply saying they are awaiting my tracerts and speedtests.
I replied saying I have sent some already, and proceeded to send some more, this at 2 am.
This morning I get a reply:
"We have assessed your line: 016 364 2608
And it seems to be syncing correctly.
Please attempt to test your connection using one of our free capped account: https://www.afrihost.com/site/product/capped_dsl_bundles?src=website_nav
This will help us determine if the issue is with your account or your ADSL line."

First of all, I always get a reply from a different person. I think I have spoken to about 8 different people having to re-explain my situation and what I have done again and again and again and again.....

Secondly, in my emails to and from Afrihost over the last week and a half, I said that when I test my line in CZ it says all is fine. I have already said that a couple of times.

Thirdly, I replied that I have done that already (tested a capped account) and if you go back in to the account you will see that.

I have sent numerous emails containing speedtests, tracerts, etc etc etc.

An Afrihost employee (as explained before) put me on a capped account on 27 October so that the Development Dept can scrutinise my business account. Anyways, the capped account performed alright for about 24 hours and then boom - crap. So fought that for a few days and was contacted by an Afrihost employee from Critical Care (as requested by Afriman). Was put back onto my business account 1 November (as was the agreement) and it was fine until yesterday.
At which point I got hold of you and critical care, again.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

Over the last week and a half, the only thing that has been conclusively shown:

1. CZ "test my line" shows my line is fine
2. Both business and capped accounts perform poorly
3. Sent through numerous tracerts, speedtests, etc.
4. Speeds are erratic - one minute fine, the next minute crap.
5. I have to re-explain my situation and what has been done numerous times.
5. I am no closer to getting my line/account sorted out than what I was when this all started on 25 October.

This is ridiculous. Am I imagining the poor speedtests? I have sent speedtests within minutes of each other that show 3,4 mbps on one and then 1,6 mbps on the next. WTF?

And to top it off, did a quick speedtest this morning before leaving home, at it showed a speed of 0,3 mbps.

I can’t continue like this.

I dont know anymore?

Just replied to your PM from last night, I've had this escalated off to our team to see what they can find.

I hear you. My speeds have been very unstable. Ranging from 0.3 mbps to 3.7 mbps on 4 mbps business uncapped.
Amazing thing is, i never had this problem before the iOS and IPC debacle. Yes there were the odd times that my speeds were slow and then i would phone in and request a port recreate - and voila, bob's your aunty.

As per our PM, drop our Critical Care guys a line again as you've been in touch with them previously.
If your neighbours are also having some issues it could indicate a bigger issue here :(

Ok I take that back, Youtube has gone to a ball of **** again. O lordy me!!

EDIT: And now back to awesome again. Damnit why is the performance so inconsistent??!

Shouldn't be, any latency tests that I can look at?

Don't think the ticket is being assigned to our Critical Care guys. Do you have a ref#?

The person who contacted me from Critical Care (as per Afriman's request) had this at the bottom of his email:
Ticket ID: QGE-187-92016
Department: Afrihost - Critical Care
Status: Open
Priority: Critical

So unless I am reading it wrong, the Ticket ID has definitely been assigned to Critical Care.
