It went way beyond frustrating 3 months ago already.

Phone ..... ?

I found it more satisfying to beat the kids, and swear at the mother in law.

But it was the drinking and the valium that eventually started to take its toll ...... :D

Glad to see that I am not the only one to come right.

Disclaimer!!!

No Wives, Children, Pets and Mother In Laws (I think I got the order right) were harmed during the AH process of fixing our internet.

However, phones were broken, large amounts of alcohol consumed as well as the consumption of prescription drugs!!!

Please do not try this at home - This is not a guaranteed fix for your AH internet issues!!!!

So Far So Good - Thanks AfriPeeps

Goodbye Afrihost.
Hello different ISP.

After 3 months of nonsense and excuses, I have had enough.

Pity man.

Not to brag, but rather to contrast for AH sake, my internet is really good ATM.

I tried streaming, gaming, torrents and general browsing since Tuesday - and I can honestly say, my side is sorted for now.

There are are two weeks till month end, and I for one hope you get sorted before then, because at the price, AH represents the best value in the market for business DSL.

(starting sound like I work for AH - I assure you I dont)

Morning Guys

We rolled out some big changes last night and it seems like posts after that have been mostly positive.

Our team are already back on the job, monitoring and testing and we'll see how their latest changes stand up to the daytime traffic of the network. We'll definitely keep at it until the performance is right.

Thanks for posting your positive and negative results, this is really helping us get a sense of what clients are experiencing and where to look for problems we can fix or improve.

We generally like to see pings on the second hop at around the 10ms mark or less. As high as 30ms is concerning and suggests exchange congestion could be an issue here.

Ok. Maybe a stupid question, but what can be done about this?

The next step would depend on whether or not your ADSL line is with Afrihost or not. If it is with Afrihost, you just need send me a PM with your line number and I can then make a few tweaks on my side, which will hopefully then improved that latency on the second hop.

If your line is with Telkom, I would recommend contacting them to complete a Port Recreate for you, you could also send me the line number, I may be able to complete it for you.
