About the same as it was previously (just under 4mbps). Can't do an exact test right now, because someone's streaming in the house. But their stream is 200KB/s and my speed is around 260~280KB/s, so it's about right.

EDIT: Twitch is lagging at medium, even with the speeds being fine again. Haven't had Twitch lag at this quality in ages. Netlimiter reports that it is only using 40~81KiB/s, so I guess it's an Afrihost problem (and don't blame Twitch... If every other ISP works just fine, then it's a problem with the one that doesn't work).

I'm suffering from so much packet loss it's insane... Not to mention the inability to use twitch on any quality higher than mobile (140p!) and even then it stutters like a dying cat.

Been trying to download a Server 2012 R2 iso from MSDN all night, tops out at 200KB/s on a 20MB business account using MS File transfer manager. Normally that maxed the line.

Even my NZBs the last couple of days have been maxing out at 1.1MB/s, using Afrihost news server.

Everything on your end is fine. Everything on Afrihost/MTN's end looks fine too, since the ping to the next hop after the final MTN node is good (to the first of level3's CDN node).
You sure it's not a problem that other players are encountering?

Nope because I was playing with my friend who lives in the same city as me, but he's with MWEB on a 2mb home uncapped. I'm on a 4mb business uncapped. He'd constantly ask me "why are you just standing still".

We'll need to investigate further here. Seem like latency is intermittent from the second hop and way too many timeouts on on the trace as well which is very concerning.

Are you getting this at certain times or all day? Just checking if local exchange performance could be a factor

Thanks for the concern, but it seems to have been an isolated incident. It returned to normal later the same day and has been fine every since. Maybe just gremlins I'll let you know if it happens again.

The problems we've had with Twitch is that it seems intermittent. There have been clients reporting that it's great and for others it's not so great and we've logged several tickets with them to try and resolve. As far as I know we peer with the same CDN's as most other ISPs, so we'll keep looking into anywhere that we can see might improve performance of this service in particular.

I can see the packet loss in this test result, but not in the trace you posted later. If you can run MTR or something like ping plotter (i think it does show packet loss) then I can see where you're getting packet loss and we can investigate from there.

As far as I know we're not seeing general packet loss on our reports so we'll definitely need to check this out

All seems pretty normal up to when we reach Level 3's network, which is the network we peer with in EU for best performance on EU services. It's unusual for them to not accept ICMP traffic though. Are these IPs the actual server addresses?

I can test the links you're using for you. As far as I know traffic should be working pretty normally, though we're still seeing some peak demand periods, especially around 8pm in the evening. Our guys are working on getting the best performance from the network at that time. Otherwise you should be getting pretty much normal performance.

We're definitely not shaping the traffic, so I think the question is how much traffic we are able to pull from the server. Are you able to tell if you are accessing the UK or US Twitch servers. If it's off the UK/EU, we should definitely be getting good speeds as the network is performing much better now.

The 6mbps shaper/policer I am on is very clearly not working as intended and a different person replying to my ticket every day is impossible to deal with. I get asked for the same tests every day or asked if I have logged a call with Telkom. It just will not exceed 4Mbps on my 6Mbps Business uncapped account.

Everything works fine on capped accounts.

That's pretty much the exact same issue I'm having with my 6mb Business Account. Support emailed me last night saying they made some changes, I tested it out today and it's still the same.
