Well at least I can Google tonight. P2P is all over the place. But need to do some other work. Anyone else having trouble using TeamViewer. Tried to log onto tow of my servers, but they just won't connect. The other connects, but the connection is so slow I can do nothing on it. And the last said server is on a dream connection at a university (I forgot to do a few updates on the server today)

I just sent you a PM, with Test Account details, would you switching to that account, and seeing if you get the same error in Team Viewer.

Telkom has yet to start the latest round of Exchange upgrades, from what I understand.

Many Exchanges have been suffering from the load-shedding, and this is causing congestion-like symptoms. If you send me a PM with your ADSL line number I can try poke around see what I can find out.

AH connectivity was good the whole of today. Average SAIX speedtest on a 4Mb line was +- 3.5Mb. I'm really hoping that some magic happened in the back office in the last 24 hours, and that things will stay like this...

We're definitely aware of the problems, and our aim is to give you as much information as we have at the moment. We have seen some great improvements as our network team have managed to bring demand under control (mostly by shaping Uncapped P2P accounts that were bypassing shaping) and focussing on overall streamlining and efficiency on the network. We expect to see overall improvement on gaming as well as other latency dependant realtime services, and generally better throughput as that process continues.

We are testing major releases like Destiny, GTA, etc to ensure that gaming performance is good and gaming traffic has highest priority on the network.

Third night in a row and I cannot login to Destiny with my Afrihost details, if I try free openweb account it works fine. Your techs gave the standard scripted run around today, reset my port, I must check my filters etc. You take your customers for fools and I am tired of this run around. How can you tell me your are improving gaming on your network - I never had problems in the past until this week and the only factor I change is the ISP to get it working and when I mention this your support always gives me standard run around scripted things to check. You just don't seem to care about your customers, which is a poor recipe for any business.

Destiny should be running smoothly at this point in time, we've added the game profile to our network management software so it will be prioritized at all times.

Would you mind if our Critical Care Team contact you to figure out what is going on? Could you send me a DM with your Account Details as well as the Platform that you are playing Destiny on.

So when I called in today and spoke to Philemon at your support desk he told me someone would call me from escalations/management whatever, I asked him if it would be today and he said yes...well, needless to say I`m still waiting for the call.

It`s quite simple really, my kid cannot play his game on PC, wizard101. I cannot log into Destiny on PS4 and I downloaded a 60mb file from the Istore and it took 2hours, all this on my 4mb afrihost business account which I pay top dollar for every month because I expect priority bandwidth (your website says "unshaped, unmetered, prioritized" and some support when things go wrong.

As soon as I change the username and password credentials on the router to the openweb free 1gb details, everything works fine, everyone can login and be happy and downloads off Istore are super fast.

Your support desk wants me to run speedtests which I did and the line is fine. The only factor I change to fix the issue is the ISP account on the router.

Afrihost business account login attempt every time between 6pm-11pm: (shaping/throttling at peak times???)

It`s long weekend coming up, I can bet there will be no gaming for anyone in my house unless you can help me by then.

Star Citizen is borked again!

Not sure what is the cause - not too sure how to get details for it either!

Been down this road .....

Must be telkom :)

And before anyone gets upity with my comment .....
I have now a fault logged with Telkom for my problem which ONLY manifests on the business account.
Rather wish us both luck before the long weekend.

We've definitely got a copy of Destiny on PS4, so we should be testing that as it's still a popular title. We had some issues with it on launch but it's been working for ages and nothing should have changed :(

Maybe it's best if you drop me a PM and we take a look at what could be happening. We can see if your son is testing at times when contention is high and perhaps is not getting good throughput or is affected when latency spikes :(

I'd love to know the details behind that because it makes no technical sense whatsoever.

If you are in the South, then you post would have been just when latency was high but should have already been dropping back into normal range.

Maybe run through the basics first, speedtest and traceroute so we can establish if the latency is only in-game or overall on your connection.

Just some clarification: Bungie had an issue last night from 20:10 (https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/591303627068825603) which was resolved around 20:46 (https://twitter.com/BungieHelp/status/591312201325096961) and this for example would have resulted in LegionECX being kicked - the same happened to a number of other people, irrespective of ADSL connection (mostly banjo and caterpillar errors). BUT: At 10pm (and nights before) Destiny on AH business uncapped shows the famous "spin lag" and I have yet to play a raid or PVP with locals where my connection remains green.

The poor performance and service levels has nothing to do with NAT (it's NAT2 and the PS4 is in DMZ), saturation of network (the ADSL mini DSLAM is pretty underused), load-shedding (seriously AH - this is the most bull**** excuse) and similar poor performance can be seen on Youtube or any streaming site. This has nothing to do with my ADSL line as other test accounts work fine and the only issue is with AH. Unfortunately all other ISPs are just as crappy and I will dump AH for fibre in the next 3 months.

Like others I am frustrated and I honestly can kick myself wasting time with the AH support team, because resetting/recreating ports/restarting the ADSL modem or changing my DNS settings will honestly not fix AH's inherently overloaded network infrastructure. @AfriGenie/@Afriman: AH has been riddled with network / IPC issues since August last year and applied band-aid after band-aid with your CEO being mum about it and your support team refusing to accept reality that you actually have serious issues. Yet you try and white-wash your problems with all sorts of illogical excuses.

My Pfsense & FreePBX servers are unable to access their update servers?
Is anyone else having a problem with International traffic?
This started last night when local latency shot up to 400ms.
Cached & local data seems fine.

Is there anyway to give an indication of the throughput and latency you're seeing to those servers? International traffic should be fine.

+10000

Bottom line, its a capacity. Two of their techies have confirmed that from their after hour support.

I don't think it's that simple. Yes, if we had a 1Tbps network, we would never have problems like this, but I don't think that is realistic. Capacity is always going to be an ongoing concern, and I think Telkom's announcement earlier is certainly a step in the right direction to achieve the industry's plans of better broadband in general. However, there will always be valid business concerns around making sure that upgrades are financially viable and maximising available resources to keep costs down for their clients.

I sent you a PM last night, no response. I did all the tests and sent it through for support, no response.
I never had these problems until this week, all other ISP accounts work fine and the problem goes away.
