Should Business Optimisation be 'Deactivated' or 'Activated'?

My international is screwed today, especially to google services - hangouts + google play games won't even connect :(
Speeds at around 50kb/s on 4MB Business.

It was fine up until this morning.

We'll need to investigate further here. Seem like latency is intermittent from the second hop and way too many timeouts on on the trace as well which is very concerning.

Are you getting this at certain times or all day? Just checking if local exchange performance could be a factor :(

Hi guys, yesterday I tried downloading a 475kb file via utorrent and I got nowhere with it. Left it on overnight and I'm still on like 40% and the download speed is on 0.

Not sure if this is a network issue as I've tried a few other torrents with vuze and utorrent and none of them are downloading at all.

I'm on afrihost business uncapped 4mb line.

Anyone else having a similar problem?

I was running some torrents on uTorrent this weekend, Sat & Sun, so definitely working as it should be.

Remember that you need to have Business Optimisation turned off (as a few people suggested later in the thread)

It should be Deactivated if you want to download torrents.

Remember that it doesn't block torrents, but will essentially limited that to something horrible like 8kBps (I can't remember the exact number) so there is minimal impact to critical Business Services.

Got a message from Critical Care, asking about if the speed has improved and my response bounces back all the time, totally pointless!!

If you're replying back to them, the email should accept incoming mails.

Are you using a domain hosting email address or an SMTP coming over our network?

Wonder why your latency is so high, I can't tell if this is a local or international test. Can you post a traceroute?

Well all I am doing is trying to respond to the email via Outlook, and it bounces back. Another issue is the Client Zone no longer seems to work with IE9. I have to sue IE9 for certain applications that refuse to run in newer version of IE. The site worked without any issues on Thursday. I can log on, but on the main page, I cannot access any of the sections, I click on the button, and nothing happens, if click on the middle mouse button ( to open in a new window I can see the data, but the formatting is all a mess)

It was a local test, but this morning it seemed better. The issue is the network is always in a poor state when I need it. I am not in the office today, so cannot do any tests.

Nothing should have changed on our side, as far as I know, so it may be an issue with IE9 (if they've made service pack changes recently).

We'll need to troubleshoot when it's like that so we can see what's happening. A speedtest and the Network Test App are a great start to get this resolved.
