Sounds like there are isolated issues here, could you paste up some speedtests and a traceroute please?

It appears quite a bit better since the last router reboot.

These results are all good, please run another test if you see things bog down.

So that's it Afriguy, no further investigating is to be done? I say I am experiencing an issue and then that's the end of it.....nice.....

just noticed now when my daughter started streaming 720p videos

Just needed a little time to chat to our team and reply here.
Please PM me your details and any further tests that have been run on your end.

AfriGuy, firstly thank you for the improved performance. Better.
May i ask however, on a 4mbps line, what is the average speed i should be seeing? At the moment i get on average 3.3 mbps. I apologize in advance if it is a stupid question.

Great to hear things are looking up :)
The max line speed can vary, remember that Telkom will always reserve some of the speed for account packets and overheads. What speeds can you download at?

As an example, I have a 10Mbps line - speedtest will show 8.5Mbps on average while my downloads generally run at 1MB/s

3.3Mbps on a speedtest is about right.

On a good day, my downloads are around 360 KB/s.
But on most days it sits at about 290 ~ 310 KB/s.

My account just went dead about two minutes ago. Rebooting allowed it to reconnect but I'm not sure what happened.

I am on a 4mbps line - get around 3,6 at best but usually 3.4 odd.

Also, testing via WiFi and ethernet makes a subtle difference.

Thank you very much. Appreciate that.
I am glad to see that i am getting what i should.

Has anyone bothered looking at the issues I reported on these forums and to Critical Care about the Clientzone and certain versions of Internet Explorer no longer working since Friday last week?

I'd like to chime in and say that YouTube has been buffering for me today as well

Thank you again for letting us know about that.

Our Team is definitely looking into that, but making any changes to correct for issues with Internet Explorer does take some time to resolve, and they are working on it as quickly as possible.

Have you had issues with any other services? How is your overall speed and latency at the moment?

They must just undo what ever changes they made on Friday, simple, it was working 100% before that.

Not always that easy, as most of the updates make for the Clientzone are to correct very specific vulnerabilities with the web browser and the Clientzone.
