well, my latency and speeds seem to be all good this morning...Telkom hasn't attended to the fault as yet....not sure what was up, maybe a congested exchange....never had that problem before though....oh well, thank heavens it's all sorted....

I'm keeping fingers crossed dude!

Streaming has been crappy since Friday evening... Youtube buffering even on 240p, any other live streaming just pausing for long moments, etc. and sometimes stopping totally.

Thought we were past this.

- Update: noticed I posted in the wrong thread. I am on capped afirhost - but doesn't change the issue. :)

Glad to see it isn't just me. Youtube is horrible (360p at best and then buffering) .. Streaming music (iTunes internet radio - various stations, and TuneIn Radio) needs to buffer every 40 seconds or so

I am sure tomorrow more people will notice and more noise will be made. I don't have the time (working now) to try troubleshoot this with support.

We'll definitely look into this if we see more reports. I tested with YouTube and Simfy over the weekend and performance was generally good :(

That's very strange. I know I definitely use our automatically assigned DNS. It's unlikely that our DNS servers would be slower than Google's unless there is an issue I am not aware of.

I'll ask the question :(

Just stating that the DNS servers you guys use are so slow at times, that i have decided to change to googles DNS and all of a sudden streaming is working fine again...

Also i have had so many issues with AH the past months but all has gone unheard and i have given up on asking for help from AH.....

Here we go again with the "Mine is fine so it must be your end" line again.

Everything else seemed fine, even torrents.

@ the others - I have been using Google DNS for maybe a year now, so it can't be AH's DNS giving trouble in this case.

Hi AH.
After lengthy discussions and tests last week with AfriGuy, a fault was logged with Telkom regarding my slow speeds. Telkom apparently tested my line today and no defects were found. Still only getting 2,3 mbps on speed tests and Google play store updates/downloads are *** slow. Also, generally not getting the 3,4 mbps speed on my line which I have grown accustomed to over the last few weeks. (On a 4mbps business package)

Sorry to hear :(
We're always here to help though, have you submitted any info/ results onto our Support team? If so, I'd like to have it followed up on to see where any potential issues are creeping in.
