I have a 6mbit business uncapped, but it never goes to HD ever. Infact i get it alot where it plays at Standard def then 10min in... it switches to a low-res for 5min or so. then goes back to SD (640x480)


I'm still on the original Afrihost 6mbit uncapped (not afrigreen) i got the details... but too scared to try it out. i can't afford to struggle more.. (while you guys tweaking it). I'll rather switch once its all sorted (all the snags been sorted)

Netflix performance on Afrigreen is reporting positively, though I don't personally have an account.

It should also be good on our regular network if you are getting normal throughput. Short periods of low throughput could be why you are changing resolution but we'll need to troubleshoot this and compare with our network reports. Maybe the best thing will be to switch over to Afrigreen just to test on Netflix. If it doesn't happen, then we know it's likely to be specific to Afrihost (MTN).
 
I'll try it out on the Afrigreen account, see if there is any differences..

Has any users on afrigreen complained about Netflix? (or better speed vs slower speed)

Generally we don't see any complaints around Netflix so I expect performance to be good. Our own tests by the network team have been very positive :)
 
My internet keeps on dropping. It is so frustrating! Tcp connections open and websites start loading, but then they freeze. Happens on my phone, pc, everything. Maybe my area has something to do with it..

That's odd, not seeing any general issues from our end.
Are you losing an auth too?
 
Afriguy, I'm hoping you can help. I upgraded this weekend from a 2Mb business bundle to a 4Mb business bundle, my line is now syncing at 4Mb and client zone is showing the line and package is set to 4Mb. When I download and do speedtests however I'm only getting 2Mbps, switch to another ISP and I get close to 4Mbps. I've logged a ticket with Afrihost support and after sending in tracerts, pings and speedtests they have now logged a ticket with telkom to check my line. Am I wrong in thinking that there is nothing wrong with my physical line and that there is just an error with my account?

Let's see what's happening here - not sure if the data is sitting on 2Mbps for some reason.

This is more for those Apple fanboys.
iOS 9 is set for release at 19:00 tonight, so we don't expect that much load to be put on the network as it is after hours. I think we all know there'll be a rush to get it - but let's try and download the updates overnight :)

We've also posted this across Social.

Hey Afriman/guy/fella ;)

Tell me is there any reason why my international latency has doubled in the last week or so..

CS:GO and Diablo III sitting at no lower that ~450ms as apposed to the past year sitting @ ~210ms (EU servers)

I must say I'm not aware of any general issues regarding Diablo and CSGO servers. Do you have an Afrigreen account yet to compare it with?
 
Ping is absurd

Tonight my ping is horrendous to say the least...

Local ping to Afrihost server - 180ms
Ping to EU (Smite server) - 408ms

Anything happening which we must know about?
