Afriguy, is there anything that I need to do on my side? Speedtest are now on 5mbps down and 0.3mbps up :/
Or must my IP just change?

So now can the cat be let out of the bag?
Can we get all the details of the new network?![]()
@AfriGuy Do you guys intend on fixing the 1080p streaming on youtube....Network is perfect for me other than that thus far....
Once we've got the submission stuff pushed out live you'll need to submit that feedback there, along with some MyBB speedtests
With that info, our network guys look at what we don't need to touch and what needs a bit of tinkering.
Remember, you're in the East, so you're currently doing a bit more routing to the North and back for now. Not sure if that extra bit of latency will affect your streaming on higher qualities.
Okay thanks for that but I can stream at 1080p with my VOX account, shouldn't the same hold true for both accounts then?
Haha, what would you like to know?
It is a POC, so improvements will obviously be coming thick and fast! We've setup the basics though.

Ok, I am curious about the following.
1) Is this Afrihost's very own IPC or leased through a 3rd party?
2) Is Afrihost using Neotel on AfriGreen for all traffic or just local peering?
Don't have Vox have a POP in the East though?
At the moment, you're routing via the North causing more latency. Did you check the FAQ attached to the mail?
Okay cool thanks...My understanding from FAQ's attached is that this will eventually be sorted out....
"We will of course have multiple geographic IPC locations once we finalise our network. "
Should I expect issues on the proof-of-concept network? said:If you are accessing your DSL in the Southern or Eastern regions (Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth etc.) you may have slightly higher latency. This is due to traffic being routed through our Northern IPC in Johannesburg and back to your location. We will of course have multiple geographic IPC locations once we finalise our network.
It's not really an issue, a POP needs to be setup in the region.
This is the bit I'm referring to:
So what type of time frame will the trail run for?
AfriGuy if I get my details for the new POC, what happens to my old details?
Can I still access my old DSL account?
Your old DSL account details will be locked once you've connected with your new account. If you would like to switch back to your current DSL account, please get in touch by emailing [email protected].
