Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback - Part 3

Semantic aside, I think any day would still be reasonable considering the amount of work that goes into designing two entirely discreet networks. But Gian did say early this week, so I am hoping so as well :)

No, that's not reasonable, if the CEO says early this week then it should be today, having you say that any day this week is reasonable does not do anything besides upset more clients.....Me paying you guys 30% of the subscription would be reasonable but hell would freeze over before that ever happens, right?

I Am very upset now i was waiting for the the 10 000 post spot :( on the other thread.....

Now back to me being **** with AH. Your Accounts Department does not want to do Refunds on anything with accounts that was used for 2 or 3 days and not EVER AGAIN. (While this issues are on)

Also 2 weeks have passed like i have stated and GAIN is no where to be found. Empty Promises and nothing back. I know the AfriHost Team are posting here in MyBB but still the info is lacking the fundamental CORE Info.

There is NO Guildelines on Progress,
There is NO News on Network Testing
There is NO News on Client Reimbursement for the issues that has happened since 90% of people had to pay for another ISP.

The same message is we are busy and hard ar work. Where is this BUSY part and HARD AT WORK. the Clients are not seeing a thing and it is very unprofessional for not 1 E-MAIL to get sent out to Clients to stating what happened, what is the solution and the fix and to apologize for all of this.

Something better get done soon as in TODAY OR i log my complaint at ICASA against AfriHost.

I am just fedup now on all of this.

We're pushing hard to get the test accounts and the new network ready as quickly as possible, this is not something that we want to mess up in anyway.

Accounts has a very specific policy on refunds and credits that they need to follow, we as the Reps can be a bit more lenient in this regard, so send me a PM with your account details and I'll see what I can do.

Will take a look as soon as I can to see what can be done here

I have now done SNR logging the entire night, see the graph, also the speeds during the night.

Thanks!

I'll make sure AfriGuy checks his PMs and gets on this. :)

I'm on 10Mb business and my experience is not great. Last night streaming a full HD movie would not go over 1.5-2Mbit even though speedtest would consistently show 7Mb+

:(

Which streaming service were you using?

Almost on 10am things went from good to not so good :(

@AfriMan, I may have missed it, but is there an official response to whether the new network does run on Vox?

I'm having a good experience with a Vox account. But if the new Afrihost network is running on Vox, it's easier for me to just stay on Afrihost.

p.s. I did sign up for the test, but didn't get a response yet.

Here we go again. Trying to stream youtube video on my 20 meg VDSL line, and buffering. No funny dns, or anything.

Would you mind running a traceroute to Afrihost.com? I just need to check that the routing is actually running to the correct local server.

What do your speedtests look like?

With regards to the new network infrastructure, I can't officially confirm any details, we want to make sure you guys go into the testing without any bias.

In terms of backbone, there is significantly more aspects that play a role in network performance than just the backbone itself.

The guys that signed up for test accounts won't need to wait too much longer.

Those results all look okay... Can you please send me a PM with your ADSL username.

On what planet do those results look OK?

Notice the 30MS!!! difference between pe-cr-2.za--el-mse-1.za.mtnns.net (196.44.31.66) and jh-dca-1.za--jh-cr-1.za-a.mtnns.net

I get 30ms average ping to local servers on mweb after moving away from Afrihost, versus your 'good enough' 80+ criteria.

No matter what anyone says, this was directly after Afrihost sold out to MTN and moved their customers onto that horrendous network. Axxess also suffers the same fate.

30ms between hops is more than acceptable for local results, there is a bit of high latency on our website stack on the final hop which is OK.
