30ms between hops is more than acceptable for local results, there is a bit of high latency on our website stack on the final hop which is OK.

So a final ping, from Afrihost to your own webserver of 85.496 ms is more than acceptable for local results?

Nough said.

Is 80ms replicated across the board? Or only to our site?
I know we did some work on the website stack a while back with some complicated configurations.

Website stack does not get hit with simple icmp/ping.

It's the firewall infront of the website that's 80ms.

I didn't check at the time but earlier in the week youtube wasn't great. Give me a checklist then I'll do some tests tonight.

Maybe just check through different streaming services like YouTube, also try switching around DNS to see if that helps at all.

With regards to the new network infrastructure, I can't officially confirm any details, we want to make sure you guys go into the testing without any bias.

In terms of backbone, there is significantly more aspects that play a role in network performance than just the backbone itself.

The guys that signed up for test accounts won't need to wait too much longer.

Good to hear the wait is nearly over. It will be nice to not have to check in on the forums for status before planning what I work on today as if I was looking at a weather report.

Apple have pushed down an iTunes update today; and Microsoft have also released new versions of Office preview to Mac users (a couple of Gb) - all of this is contributing to a relatively slow throughput experience on my side, even on the alternative ISP accounts I use.

We're definitely wanting to push as much info through our noticeboard wherever possible. It is easier to go into detail here though, or Social channels.

I think you'll be very happy with the improvements going forward :) We're working hard to bring these to the forefront and provide an excellent experience for everyone.

"No problems with MTN" - Afriman

I think it's pretty evident that there are issues.
We've made that quite clear on here and our noticeboard - this is exactly what our team are working towards fixing.

Oooooh, just received my test account details, now to break the network
