All except p2p (performs better through a vpn than without) and a youtube video downloader. I still battle to comprehend how those two run at 3,2 mbps most times but everything else is crappy.

Could may be DNS related... Which DNS are you using at the moment?

Router set to get DNS automatically from isp.
As you know, yes there is a problem with my exchange.
It keeps being blamed for all poor performance.
But as I said - I still fail to comprehend how just those two downloads perform at 3,2 mbps quite consistently.

Aren't you running on AfriGreen at the moment. I think they have been running tests with P2P specifically and did warn that speeds may be poor during the tests.

Nope. On normal business account. P2p and youtube video downloader are the only things that run decently. Everything else dead.

No.
I will give it a go.
As I said to AfriGenie - yes there is an issue with my exchange.
But I am battling to comprehend how p2p and a youtube video downloader consistently download at 3,2 mbps but everything else (including downloads) are all pretty much useless this time of night.

I wouldn't think it's an exchange issue - at least not this symptom. The exchange will not care what kind of traffic you're running. I;ve only ever seen issues like this with DNS related problems.

For me, sometimes a simple router reboot seems to make this go away completely, but that is usually me refreshing my DNS settings as well, so it could be the same issue.

I will give google dns a try over the next few nights and report back.

At least now I don't feel like I am mad or something.
 
So this is fun.. Getting authentication errors ( intermittently ) and seeing this in the client zone

Business uncapped is capped. Hm.

Download Speed: 3194 kbps (399.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 412 kbps (51.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 38 ms

Yet, takes f***ing 10 minutes to download 1% of a 436 MB windows 7 update.
Lekker man.

Hi AfriMan.
So been using Google dns - has made no difference.
Speeds took a dip at around 3pm today - and true to form - my p2p and youtube video downloader is going nicely but everything else is pretty much useless.
Please help!
 
Any reason why I'm getting 17-30% packet loss :confused: This is really getting annoying now... Any timeline on when a person doesn't have to have two or more ISP accounts anymore?

That's pretty strange... Do you have an AfriGreen account that you could try and test with to see if the same thing happens?
