Hi Afripeople
Is your international link down. I can't get BBC CNN etc. Local seems fine.

We're definitely aware of the issue, seems to be mostly people in Cape Town reporting, but I see a post from KZN and Gauteng here. We'll need to investigate further.

Please switch over to Afrigreen if this persists, and if you don't have a username, please PM me ASAP :(

My phone is lit up like a xmas tree. Everyone in East London as well. Thanks Afrihost..... ganna be a wonderful morning. fml.

Experiencing issues in Limpopo too. Some local sites seem to work but no international :(

I hear Axxess is leaving the MTN bandwidth because of MTN refuse to buy capacity so they ganna move to SAIX. The sooner the better...

Hey Guys

looks like there is an issue possibly with MTN's international links affecting Mobile and DSL. We're busy working with them to get this resolved.

One the DSL side, Afrigreen should be working 100% so please switch over or PM me for a username.

Switched to FNB connect which is used for a backup.
Eish in SA we need backups for everything!
FNB is working fine.

Can't simply switch over. We have clients that have no clue how to switch over.
Could remote in and do it, but wait, there's no internet -_-

Why doesn't Afrihost automatically switch all users over to Afrigreen network temporarily, if Afrihost know MTN has fallen over? There is also no Afrigreen switch option with "how-to" details on the client zone area.

Last network status update was 9 July 2015, and the clock on Afrihost website says today is 08:41, 24 Jun 2015

Ufortunately we don't have enough capacity on Afrigreen to do that and by the time we did that, the issue would probably be over :(

Hi Guys

We should be seeing some connectivity being restored, looks like MTN have managed to change something.

I'll have more details soon, but truly sorry about the hiccup this morning. Hopefully you should be seeing some normal international traffic resuming now.

I suppose this is why Afrihost does not use Afrigreen as Failover or a operational backup

Your old (Afrihost) DSL account details will be locked once you've connected with your new (Afrigreen) account.

Its two separate networks which require you; the user; to MOVE your account, and not just switch over to another backup DSL network, and back again; when Afrihost/MTN fails and you need DSL access.
