Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

Hi all!

Does anyone know if any of Afrihost's support channels (Whatsapp, phone lines, email, live chat) operate on a Saturday?

Just so you guys know - I upgraded to Fiber and even with Fibre, Afrihost pings to EU (specifically Battlenet servers) are still high. Webafrica has a ping of 170/180ms on ADSL. Afrihost fiber is about 200. Quite disappointing that webafrica adsl is better than Afrihost fiber. If you guys have this problem the only solution is moving away from Afrihost it seems.

You shouldn't be getting such high ping. Please send me a traceroute to the server you are referring to and I will check what route you are using. If possible I am sure we could change the route for you.
 
Afrihost, im assuming that the amount in arrears is the amount for my 20meg line that was transferred over today? As i left you guys with R0 arrears. Can you confirm

Line syncs perfectly, but check this packet loss and ping on Afrihost network. :confused:

So now after paying AH double for an UNSHAPED account, and things running fine for a few months, we're back at square one again.

Yesterday it took me from 3pm to 10pm just to download MS Office from Microsoft for an installation.

I may as well dig out my old 56K modem.

The round trip ping to my own host in Newlands is 1459.74ms with 76.92% packet loss

I am so sorry for getting back to you so late.

This looks very odd. It looks like you are using your bandwidth while you are testing. Please confirm if this was the case.
