Sharp Blunt
New Member
Hi All
Recently I have been fighting with Afrihost due to the fact that I have 25% Download and 6.5% P2P shaping being applied on my line for more than 85% of the time. I have monitored this every day for almost a week and every time I checked, the shaping is exactly the same. I have only used 7GB this month, and I have a 2 Mbps uncapped bundle with them. Over an above that, my line was barely used in July as I was having issues with Telkom.
They say the shaping is applied hourly, but every time I've checked, even during off-peak times, the shaping is still the same. I have not been able to download anything I've needed this month because of this. They say that high data usage in the past may affect the shaping, but my usage has probably been less than 15GB every month this year.
They also say that the shaping does not affect real-time services, but even streaming videos has become a task where I need to stop videos on YouTube to allow them to buffer.
This is getting highly frustrating and I do not think I am the only one experiencing these issues as a colleague of mine is having the exact same problem at the moment.
If you are an Afrihost user, please monitor your client zone to determine whether or not the same is being applied to you.
Your input would be appreciated
