Please let me know if you aren't able to get the package change done!

Could not find it there, the screenshot below shows what is available under capped. Am I correct in assuming a capped package would not be shaped to aggressively?

Hi Fayaaz, thanks for the heads up. I am in the process of an Afrihost installation, also on the 200GB capped account. Please let me know what your performance is like on the capped package.

My Uncle just had his fibre line installed (100Mbps/200GB cap) and its bloody fast. Speed test shows around 95Mbps down and around 49Mbps up.
For over a year I have been using Openserve fibre from Axxess and an AH capped account with AH+. At this very moment the Openserve tech is migrating me to Afrihost. It should be done in the next hour. Then I will be using my AH fibre bundle (10Mbps with a 100GB cap) that I will be bolting AH plus onto.
Why did I move to Afrihost for my fibre? Because Axxess wanted to charge an admin fee to change my line speed. WTF!

My only complaint is that the Fibre bundle on the clientzone doesnt let me change my PPPOE password. Which is frustrating because I have a default password I like to use.

Fibre Capped accounts aren't shaped at all.

You are already on a 20Mbps / 20Mbps line, so you won't need to change that. :) Sorry, I only noticed that now.

Ah, ok THanks!

EDIT: If if I keep it on 20/20 and select CAPPED fiber, I am not able to select a data package. It wants me to change the line speed, where 20/20 is not available.

Anyway, I'll sort this out some other time.

Could you PM me your username and the package you want. I'll get our Team to process it manually for you.

I am not familiar with AH+, but quickly read up on it... So if I understand correctly, your 100GB cap will be doubled for R99 pm?

This ties into the issues I have continuously been highlighting.
The mobile app doesn't even have any capped options... Only uncapped.

Any closer to have these resolved/implemented?

*No after-hours data
*No capped data roll-over
*No Afrihost Plus double data
*No functionality to view usage, top-up or change package from mobile app

Afrihost+ is not avaible to fibre clients...I found this out yesterday as im on capped fibre with them:(

Totally agree, I fell for the 'uncapped' scam, after months of struggling I fell for the mid-tier 'uncapped' scam, was still having the same exact shaping and throttling issues without any heavy use, after 7pm, Boom, no more fiber. So 3 days ago I did the change package to the 200GB capped at 20 mbps, problem is, it is now 3 days later and still they have not changed my package. are they perhaps where Telkom was a few years ago, i.e. horrendous service, non-existent after-sales, and just a general GFY attitude?

The Plus+ Double Data Benefit is now available on Fibre.

We should be rolling out the rest very soon on the App.

My fibre was installed yesterday. I did a speed test and my speed was 4 meg down and 0.5 meg up.
Contacted Afrihost and they said it will take 48 hours to get the actual 10 meg up/down I subscribed for.

Is there a logical explanation as to why you are not activated from the start on the service you originally subscribed for (even if billed pro-rata for it)?

I have seen this issue before. Its something funky on Openserve.

@ Afri{Anyone}

I'm 'apparently' on a 10/5mpbs line, but I have been able to get 8mbps precisely ONCE! My upload seems to be ok at 4-5mbps, but my download sticks to MAX 3.8-3.9, sometimes way worse.

I have a support ticket -[ HDG-663-26134 ]- (as well as a PM to AfriFella) which has seen no activity/responses since logging it almost a day ago...

The service in the last week really has been far from ideal.

Every time I try to start a live chat on the website, I get the following message:

Please leave a message.
All of our support agents are currently busy. Please leave a message or try again later. Thank you.

Many Thanks! Progress! Appreciated. :)

Now three items remaining to match Capped Fibre with Capped ADSL:

Caped Fibre still needs:

*after-hours data
*capped data roll-over
*functionality to view usage, top-up or change package from mobile app

I'm pretty sure I found the cause of the issue! I've asked our Dev Team to correct it, I'll let you know the moment it has been done.

What does semi-throttled metered bandwidth mean? How will this affect the average user?

That means it's a Uncapped account that will only be throttled once you've hit a specific threshold. You can check out the Thresholds here. The usage is measured over the past 30-days.
