Hell, looks like its that time again !

No internet for 2 days now, no response from Afrihost. Everytime i try get any info out of them with what is happening, im given different excuses every time.

If you are here browsing to see which ISP to use, do not use Afrihost. It has some of the worst latency and general support of any of the ISPS. You have been warned.

Hey Draken, that really isn't good to hear :( Please drop me a PM with your details and I will look into this right away for you.

This doesn't sound good at all. :( You really sholdn't have struggled for so long.

I will need to check what is happening on my side for you. Please send me a PM with your email address and I will find out what is happening for you. :)
Promise after promise and still no resolution. How many times have I be told will call you back and no response later. Have requested accounts to contact me for the credit discussion due to non service however nothing. Does not seem that Afrihost seem to live by their slogan. Even AfriNatic is silent now. What does it even help to follow up or to complain. Afrihost does not care about customer service.

Afriguy, Is there any plans for afrihost to start using the new SACS pipe to South America ?

Unfortunately not.

Those intermittent fibre drops are back... Two hours since the line's been down now, and no update from support other than they're logging a fault

That is really not good at all. When you connection drops are seening any light change on your CPE/ONT?

Since the previous fibre outage, I am unable to access the following forum, https://www.disco4.com/, when I am connected on the Afrihost fibre.

However, when I switch to Afrihost mobile data/MTN, then the website is accessible.

I am unable to ping it from my PC, but a web-based ping works, so it looks like a routing issue on the fibre link?

I am sorry that I am only getting back to you now. Are you still struggling to get that domain?

Frogfoot are running fibre inside my complex today, but on the Afrihost website it shows my location as having no fibre availability?

How does it work if I want to move my VDSL/Data bundle to a Fibre/Data bundle once I can actually move it?

When a provider lays fibre it still takes a while before the fibre is actually live and ready for providers to activate homes. Until they are active, they won't allow an ISP's to allow clients to sign up.

First night with Afrihost fibre on Ocotel, already have an upgrade in for 200Mbps - is this upload speed normal though?
http://www.speedtest.net/result/8040574675.png

Nothing else is happening on the networking, tested with Ubuntu server over LAN, WLAN shows similar results.
Checking the Afrihost page, the package stated 100/100, so definitely not.

I do think there are currently a ton of issues due to constant load shedding, but unsure.

Do also check that nothing is uploading, e.g. Google photos.

I am not 100% sure what package you are on. Since you are upgrading I assume you are either on the 100Mbps or the 100Mbps +.

100Mbps {Download= 100Mbps & Upload = 25Mbps}
100Mbps + {Download= 100Mbps & Upload = 100Mbps }

It looks like you are on the normal 100Mbps package from what I can see. If you want me to check, please send me a PM and I will look into this for you.

There are 2 different packages for the 100Mbps speed bracket. I have mentioned the differences above.
