Which region are you in? We are experiencing connectivity issues in the South and East at the moment. :(

South unfortunately!

Funnily enough now my account seems to have data. What would have been the cause for data to only be added to my account at after 6pm on the first? The connectivity issues are frustrating but understandable that you can't personally solve while this account issue can be (I hope - or that it never appears again!)

I'd need to check on your account itself, could you PM me?

Not the Fibre Capped accounts, real-time traffic is prioritised. You should be getting around 200ms to 220ms to Europe. Which DNS are you using?

Poor speeds again tonight, falling as low as 9mbps on the PS4 speed test. Mybroadband speed test is good but don't understand why the PS4 test would be so much slower. Is there DNS or port forwarding settings I should be using here?

We are working with our upstream vendors to resolve this as quickly as possible.

I'm not going to lie, this is pretty terrible. Unusable internet for most of the day, on a day that I actually need it more than I usually do. That's Murphy for you.

Still unusable this morning.

Unless this is a bigger issue affecting other ISP's as well, if this is still the situation when I get back home tomorrow, I'm certainly jumping ship.

Hi Afrigenie,

Yesterday morning I requested a change in package (Uncapped to Capped) on my fibre line. The notification said this would happen at midnight.

However, this morning it looks like I'm still on the Uncapped package?

Morning guys,

Just a quick update on connectivity in the South. Our Network Team is still working on restoring a network issue in the South affecting certain DSL, Mobile & Fibre clients. The issue has been escalated to the switch vendor, but network communication between JHB and Cape town is basically non existent. This means that new subscribers as well as usage quotas may also be affected. We're working hard to restore service as quickly as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience.

This is seriously taking way too long. I really hate that I have to pay Vumatel another R1k to jump to another ISP, but 2 days of useless Internet access is not OK with me, so I might just do that.

that's odd: Internet went down for about an hours, but all the lights on the fibre router stayed green

There is limited connectivity. WhatsApp will work, but it won't download or send attachments. Facebook and Google works, but no external links. Torrents work :erm: but no websites except for Google. You can Google something, but not open the result, because it's on another website.

Your connection should be returning to normal now, could you please test your connection and let me know if there is any change.

Our Team is working to roll-out the usage graphs as quickly as possible for Fibre! Capped data definitely rolls over, I can check for you , if you PM me your details.

The post above was made by you on 2 Oct.
Today is 3 Nov.
No usage graphs yet. Why on earth is this taking so long?
My unused capped data from October did not roll over.
Can this really be that hard?

Your Data should definitely have rolled-over, could you Inbox me your username and I'll check what's going on.

Already did that in parallel to the message above as a reply on last month's PM. Re-sent it now specifically calling out the account username again.

While Afrihost is grappling with the the (seemingly severe) complexities of displaying accurate data usage and availability for capped fibre accounts, how are we supposed to check this in the interim?

Ok, seems that between this morning and now , someone at Openserve has decided to eventually sync the website coverage page to what's actually the status in the 'field" , meaning yes, I now can place an order. Not wanting to go through 550 + posts in detail, I have some questions that might have been covered already.

1. I'm currently on Afrihost+ package. Will the same apply to fibre, i.e. Double data, etc. etc. ?
2. I assume the 'up to R4000' applies ?
3. Currently Capped/Unshaped . Same on fibre ?
4. Anything else I should be aware/wary of ?

Btw, if I do order, do I go via Clientzone or what ?
