Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

Even if you entered Mars, we'll mail you before hand to confirm the correct delivery address :)

How did you know that is where I stay? :erm: Hoping for some excellent coverage where I'm at. :D

And no to mention they did not have my town on the list !!!!!! I was like wtf now uhm uh Omf select random town

Ditto. Although I selected the closest town from the recipient but plopped in GORDONS BAY all over the other fields.

AfriMan / Afriguy,

Now that the dust has settled and we're all patiently waiting for our data to go live in September, please can you confirm how the APN is going to work on an MTN sim.

Without any authentication (we merely change to the "afrihost" APN on our handsets), I assume that there needs to be some link set up between our Afrihost account and our MTN contract number. However, there is no field in Clientzone to capture this information. Is Afrihost going to assume that the cellphone number we supplied when we signed up (potentially years ago) is our MTN Contract number? This would be flawed; what if I signed up with my work Vodacom number, but I want to use my Afrihost data on my personal MTN Contract? Or is there perhaps some other step we need to do in order to ensure it will work?

You will need to reassign the data from your afrihost sim to your MTN sim.

You will be able to do this via clientzone from 3rd sept.

That's awesome news... But how is it that you know something that AfriMan doesn't? AfriMan, can you confirm this?

You'll need to get a certified letter from the owner of the house stating that you are a resident, as well as a utility bill in their name, proving this is their residence.

Thanks. So I should just have the owner write me a letter and get it certified, then provide a copy of the utility bill to the courier? Must this also be certified?

You'll need to have letter verified by the SAPS, the rest of the copies don't need to be certified :)

...or any other commissioner of oaths. Your local CA/CFP/etc or post office should also be able to assist.

Welcome Afrihost_Brand_Team!
This account will be answering most questions - some say he isn't human and actually created the colour red :p

For support related queries feel free to PM AfriMan/ Girl/ Guy.

I was told that that courier will be in contact via email to confirm details before dispatch and that one can reply to correct any errors/changes at that stage. :D
For now, it's best to let the courier know once we mail you just before your order goes off to the courier, to change your delivery address there.
That'll be another first, a courier actually delivering a package to an updated address.

Where is AfriGirl ? Is she busy shooting in the APN settings video ?

She's around, very possibly getting her hair did for this video shoot I'm hearing so much about.

I've done this many times before with various couriers without any troubles... Heck many of our regular couriers picked up that we moved and automatically directs parcels heading to our old address to our new front door.

looking at all the rica stuff... surely a MTN account with your name/address on it would be valid ?

Still no debit order. :( If it's going to be over month end, I'll rather pay by EFT.

Well I've often given them an address change, had absolute assurances the parcel will be delivered to that address and then had to chase them up to find out what they've done with the package. Applies to a wide range of local and international couriers.
