Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

Got my SMS this morning from couriers and mail from Afrihost.
Courier arrived at about 10:30.

He had no clue that he had to receive Rica documents.
It seems also that he was on his way to Uitenhage and not Kirkwood when he saw the Kirkwood address.
The Uitenhage address was bogus, because Kirkwood was not listed when I ordered.
I did receive the mail from Afrihost to rectify if needed, which I did.

The mail from the courier also confirmed my correct address. So not sure how the courier was sent to the wrong address.
Uitenhage is about 50 km from Kirkwood.

Anyway everything is working fine.

I received an sms from AfriHost yesterday, to say that it would be delivered sometime during the course of the day (yesterday), but it never arrived and the tracking status on MDS' website said "received by courier" all day long.

It's changed to say "Delivery Courier Dispatched" today, so here's hoping...

Could we please have more info regarding this pre-reca'ing thing Afriguy/girl?
- Is it pre-rica'ed in our own name, or prelimenary in Afrihosts's?
- Who exactly is doing this? Afrihost or some third party?

Pre-rica and MTN in the same sentence makes me uncomfortable..

Delivery was prompt. Only received the one sms and email.

Well that concludes day 11 of waiting...at the moment, I am sitting at :

Collivery 12**** Status is : Delivery Driver Dispatched

Maybe day 12 will be the day, but as always folks, do not hold your breath.

Mine went back to "Delivery Driver Dispatched" without a due date after having one for most of the day.
Guess they will try again tomorrow.

Beginning to lose hope that it will get to me before the weekend.
I called Collivery and spoke to a guy there - who indicated that it was set for delivery tomorrow.
He then said he would squeeze it in for this afternoon - so far nothing.

My status still shows as 'processing'.........

I'm starting to think that AfriHost shot themselves in the feet when they decided to give away 800% of the planned quantity. :/ There will be many of us who won't receive our devices before launch - guaranteed!

Finally started to receive communication from courier.

Collivery 122xxxx Status is : Received By Branch

Those of you that are expecting a delivery from Afrihost:

we have close to 10 000 of them to deliver by 6th September.
we have received nearly 2000 requests to change the delivery address.
we are experiencing serious delays/failures as a result of people not having their RICA docs ready.

We ask for your patience and understanding - your delivery will get to you before the 6th as originally promised.
