Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

Still waiting on a Durban delivery.

Was in the 30/08 15.55 batch that was handed to the couriers. Status has not changed since 30/8.

No email or sms received from courier to say / indicate that delivery will be completed by today.

Same here, PTA East. I am not one to complain (especially with the free device and great deal) but now I'm not so sure (especially since the couriers seems to be at fault here).

I've got bad news.

And also a little good news that'll hopefully help soothe the pain of the bad.

First the bad news: It looks like your MiFi device will only be delivered next week.

I am gutted. And I'm sure you are too.

I am sincerely sorry that we could not get your MiFi to you by the 6th of September as promised.

There were a bunch of factors that contributed to this: The biggest was that we originally planned to give away far, far fewer MiFis than the 8157 we did.

But after the first 1000 sold out in minutes we didn't want to disappoint anyone - So we ended up giving away over 8 times more MiFis than we had planned to.

And one of the consequences of this was that MDS Collivery, our couriers, had far more deliveries to make than they had budgeted for.

On top of that they were also hamstrung by terrible weather in some regions and the fact that we were not as clear about the delivery address details we needed from you in our original order forms as we should have been. This led to many delivery addresses needing to be changed after we gave the MiFis to the couriers which put additional strain on them.

But I'm not trying to make excuses.

You are our client and I take full responsibility for letting you down.

So now for the good news:

As a small token to show you how sorry we are - and to hopefully make it up to you - we are going to be adding FIVE EXTRA GBs to your Mobile account for the month of October.

For NO extra cost or obligation.

I am sincerely sorry.

MDS will continue to do their best to get your device to you as soon as they can.

As I hope you know, we are completely committed to delighting you with every aspect of our service - and in this case we have definitely not lived up to our own high expectations and have let you down.

I sincerely hope that when you do get your MiFi it will bring you such joy that the pain of waiting a few extra days for it will be quickly forgotten.

I just received an email from Afrihost giving another 5 gigs for October. Wow, that was really not necessary. Just shows what a GREAT company this is. Ppl need to chill the fck out, they got a device for free. What is a day or two's wait? I was also calling to ask about the delivery, but when I actually spoke to someone and hear how busy they are it is totally understandable. Kudos to Afrihost once again!!
 
Yeah - got the e-mail and a waybill notification from collivery at the same time.
 
Mine has just been delivered.

All i can say is thank you very much to Afrihost! They may have had a few hiccups with the delivery to some people, but i think overall they have done a fantasic job with the promotion, the packaging and branding and the communication. And for a free device!

Don't worry, you are always going to get those people that whinge and moan, but i think overall you have made a great impression and i am sure you will have many more happy customers.

And finally, no i don't work for Afrihost, know anyone that does or have any other sort of connection to them, apart from being a happy customer.

I spoke to MDS yesterday and they said my area is only serviced on Saturdays, so I'll receive mine then.... but now I receive an email from Gian saying I'll only get it next week. Now what am I supposed to do on Saturday? Wait around for them to deliver (haha), or actually go out and enjoy myself, like I'd been planning?

Please AfriHost, just fetch the rest of the devices from MDS and give them to a reputable courier company instead.
 
Afriducks, this is unfair, I also had delivery problems, I had to go fetch my own! Voluntarily of course. :D
 
Kudos to Afrihost, this sort of ownership and willingness to compensate means a lot!

It isn't set that it will be next week, if the couriers told you tomorrow, then you might get it tomorrow. As you said your area is only serviced on Saturday. You might get your device tomorrow.

This means 15GB next month for only R197 yay
