Well for R164 I am getting 400GB PM from VOX and have 1.6TB of rollover data accumulated, so the end of the 18 Hours free time is hardly a big issue for me. I will definitely not be upping my account by an extra R99 for the sake of one more month, I have only managed to use 25Gb so far this month and a total of 128GB last month.
I took the offer to try AFRIHOST again, having been a loyal subscriber up until the AfrirRED/AfriGreen fiasco.
Now, having been back for the past few months, I see nothing much has changed as far as cape Town is concerned.
The Network is still very good and responsive from Midnight to 6PM, despite the extra load of free time, but is totally unusable from 6PM to midnight. Likewise most weekends can be hit and miss, especially if a fault occurs on a saturday, not much will be done to resolve it till monday.
I also see we are still being asked to do individual tests, even when 20 people in the same region report the same Issue.
Shaping is still happening at certain times (even if it is called something else to obfuscate the issue) and Business Uncapped is still not worth the money.
On the upside, the network status page is actually being updated occasionally
I don't blame the AfriGeeks here on the forum, they do a thankless job and they do it well and with dignity, but they too are kept in the dark, by the network team and upper management, as to the real issues and capacity planning/management.
So I will once again be bowing out, not as a customer, I still have 4 Data SIM's, but from the ADSL product and this forum.
Heading over to Client Zone now, to hit the cancel button once more.
Cheers
Chris
EDIT: - From the Client Zone:
"Cancellation Effective Date: Midnight, 31 December 2016
You will not be billed for December but your current data allocation is usable until Midnight, 31 December 2016"
Nice touch, thankyou Afrihost.
