Everything still dead for me. 2.5 hours and still no fix for a major network outage.

Morning everyone.

We are definitely aware of the connectivity issues. At present it looks like an issue related to backhaul/routing in the South, and our engineers are busy sorting out an alternative workaround.

We hope to have everything back on track shortly.

Thank you for your patience - I know it couldn't happen on a worse day :(

Good morning, any chance to explain why carbonite is working?

It's not the worse day. Lot of people are still sleeping and most of us don't have any critical work but I don't suppose you have an ETA by any chance ?

We've just confirmed that there is a fibre break on our backhaul, which is why mobile and DSL are affected. They are busy repairing the fibre, it seems like that will be faster than rerouting traffic at this stage, but we should have a contingency in place if it comes to that.

Hold tight, we should be back very shortly :)

Happy new year AfriMan, ok, less Happy I suppose, thanks for update, a fairly accurate ETA would help, ASAP is not cutting it.

Great. On another note:
Happy New Year :D

Afrihost & Axxess down (though, as a Afrihost support tech told me, What happens to Afrihost, happens to Axxess because they are the same company - any truth to that?)

Correct

Same network, different companies but overall owned by Afrihost.
