It's now been 36 hours since I last heard from 'critical' care. Seems they weren't overly concerned with AfriGuy prodding them.

Interesting development, a kind Afrihost client gave me his account details. I used them and the torrent I have been having issues with downloaded almost immediately. I deleted the torrent, logged onto my account again, and it sits. So please explain this?

As a side question for those who have been following this saga, have I not been doing everything I have been asked to do? Has anyone seen anyone from Afrihost offer to do any tests form their side to see if my account has any configuration issues on their side, maybe I missed something.

Selective shaping/throttling based in usage?

That was disproven on the 20th in this thread when Afriguy acknowledged that level 7 traffic prioritisation is active on these accounts.

From here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...k-Feedback?p=17480352&viewfull=1#post17480352

what is the difference between shaping & prioritizing traffic - any idea ?
The Business Uncapped Bundles still come with the same powerful unshaped and unmetered internet data along with all the other benefits of having a regular Business ADSL account from us.

You might want to cool off...

I am not really sure why I am being told to cool off because I was not upset or worked up but then I realized that you are one of the forum moderators. Apologies for not showing you the respect you require. I understand the importance of moderation but your comment is out of line. I was under the impression that the purpose of these ADSL forums are to help one another and to encourage open and honest debate. You have an ADSL user here who has been struggling for days to resolve his problems. It is shocking how this person is being given the run around. Opinions differ and sometimes a solution to a problem is to use another ISP and to share information regarding experiences. But this seems to be strictly controlled on this platform. It is one thing to intervene when things get out of hand but quite another to stifle conversation flow and prematurely call for offline conversation via private messaging.
PS: Did you notice that PurSpyk had success with the suggestions we gave him?

Nobody is stifling your right to comment but we have requested that these specific ISP threads by used by the ISP reps to assist users with their problems.

You are welcome to use the other threads to share your opinions about ISPs.

Ironically you did just that. Please go read the comments again and then look at your response. We partner with people who moderate international forums and I guarantee you that if you pulled this stunt on those forums, come Monday, you would be in the MD's office. These forums thrive on the participants, free -, open and fair communication. It is a delicate balance to moderate but also not to offend. If you do your forum users will go somewhere else. Which ISP to use is on topic here, especially if the conversation or thread leads to that. If you terminate the flow when it gets to this point you might as well close the thread and only allow the ISPs to broadcast while the users listen. After this incident I will probably not post here again.

Please read the opening post in this thread... the part in bold.

And we don't get paid to do this.

why did you feel the need to mention that? Im on quite a bit of international forums myself, mostly sporting and tech forums. most of those mods are not being paid either, and honestly, if you hear what people say to each other on those forums, mickeyD telling you to cool off, would be to them as if they have just been tickled on the belly.

By what day do I have to submit a cancellation to AfriHost?

Their service is absolute **** lately and they keep telling me it's not them yet when I use a different ISP, my internet is 100%

23rd I think. So too late now, unless you submitted cancellation when you made your post. I submitted cancellation ages ago, as you can uncancel instantly if need be.

They say that but it's actually before the 25th, they just say 23 just to be safe.
