Afrihost Plus pricing and details

Too much for those extra services.

As I said, this all should be free as this just causes more confusion.

The end of double data - It seems that I will have to start researching ADSL prices again.

How about doing a survey before launching a product. Don't care about mobile data, 2 for 1 and the simfy music.

Why can't they keep it simple? Those that want can pay an extra RX for the add-on.

But now it is RX for the ad-on plus this and minus that ... No man, leave me alone!

Updated the article with new information from Afrihost. They may elect to not launch the service at all based a client survey it intends to launch later today.

---

UPDATE: Afrihost has said that it has decided to delay the launch of Afrihost Plus to get more feedback from clients, and depending on client feedback may not launch the product any time soon, or even at all.

"I am sending an email to our clients later asking them whether we should in fact launch Plus+ or not and will act based on the results of this," Afrihost CEO Gian Visser said.

Visser also said that although the current incarnation of Afrihost Plus includes a 3o-day trial period, and while there is a strong chance they will launch the product that way (if it launches), there is still a chance that they may not offer a trial at launch.

I suspect Afrihost have been keeping an eye on these MyBB threads...

At least they are willing to listen to the customers.

+1. The AfriX reps on this forum helped to establish the company as one of us. Fighting the good fight against the Telkom monopoly. Sadly, they seem to have grown too big now.

I'm getting the feeling that they're gonna end up lauching it and giving it for free to customers that have [insert product name]

I don't see much value for money here, so like most AH clients, I'll be jumping ship to Axxes as soon as AH drops the free double data promo. I'ts all about value for money from my view...

atleast they listen!

Same can't be said for most South African Companies.

lol if the other Afrihost feedback threads are anything to go by then no they don't really pay much attention especially while they are "tweaking" their "network management" to bring "pure internet joy" back "soon".

Afrihost-MTN want to get rid of the free double-data and the rest of the stuff is just sugar coating the issue.

Not at all. Double Data will continue as advertised for clients who don't opt for Plus until the end of the year, and it could still be revised or extended as advertised.

The benefit here is not having to worry if it does, or when it may come back as a general promo cos you can lock this in for yourself :)

Double turbocharge, what’s the point? Turbocharge did not work when I was still with them.

Turbocharge is definitely a useful feature and works pretty well when the network is performing as it should. However of late we've had some issues due to poor network performance. By the time Plus launches. we expect to be seeing great network performance again, which will include Turbocharge.

If you want to keep your customers happy, keep doubling our ADSL capped data. It's the best offer you have ever given us and I would be very sorry to see it disappear. All this other nonsense included with this touted "plus" product is of zero use to me and I am sure many others too.

KISS

already moved last night.

i think for customers that have very high mobile and adsl data caps (and regularly uses top-ups) this could maybe be a bargain, but still.... - i don't like to subsidize.

^^This

Well done to Afrihost for innovating!!

Most of what the plus offers is fairly useless to me other than the double your data bit.

I currently use a 300GB+300GB double your data package @ R1200. To pay R1300 to permanently get capped, unshaped bandwidth @R2.16 per gb makes a lot of sense to me.
