Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Yes you're right and that's the sad thing.

You want to know what is even sadder, they are telling me using peer - to - peer protocols is causing all the pretty lights on the router to go off, except for the power light ... , peer - to - peer protocols are the devil incarnate. Going to send yet another repacement router. Which I have serious doughts will solve the issue. But if they have money to waste, instead of finding the cause else where so be it.

Now that is sad, still waiting for fiber, that is just as sad ...

NLD issues again between dbn>jhb, was fine for a few days but now its back up to 45ms.issue is ongoing for almost 3 months.

Can't do much when it is NLD issues
I understand its on the vendors side but 3 months is a really long time for the issue to still be ongoing without any alternatives. Basically 45-50ms and packet loss almost everyday during peak instead of 10-15ms.

NLD issues for 3 months? I have only heard about that for the past month? Well what I have seen in this thread unless I missed something

Issue started 3 months ago(i mentioned this to them in June) , and gradually got worse. Afrinatic has been trying to get this issue resolved with the vendor. The first time it was posted in this thread was a month ago.

Yea I’ve been definitely experiencing this

Durban based content such as Netflix is fine

JHB stuff like YouTube, Apple, Prime video has its occasional delays or buffering

Also getting around 45ms ping to Jhb and an inflated EU ping of around 185ms usually is 168ms during the day also playing rocket league on ZA servers is like 50ms vs normal 15ms

Been a while like this now

I would very much like an ETA on this crap.
I have to work next week.
The situation has gotten so severe that this ****ing connection is dropping every 30m

Sometimes multiple times within a 30m window.

It goes down for upwards of 5/15m - so it's not even a thing of "oh let me just hop back onto my client call".
I have to sit and wait for this **** to fix itself.

It's actually shameful.
Yeah sure, it might not be an Afrihost issue. But I expect you to get vumatel to fix it.

You can't expect them to get Vumatel to fix it, they don't own Vumatel, they not the same company, they can only do so much, spam Vumatel if I were you, I did that with my previous FNO

My dude.
They're selling a service off of vumatel....

Of course I can expect them to get vumatel to fix it. Because either way.... IM PAYING FOR IT.

Also internet dead again. I've lost count how many times this has happened today now.

Unfortunately going through the ISP is the only way as vuma doesn't deal with the public anymore. No call center no nothing. It dropped again just FYI.

OpenServe doesn't either, just find an email and spam it, I did that when I was on my previous ISP, fixed after a week of spamming 5 emails a day
