Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

We have picked up several tickets logged for intermittent connection and requested a meeting with Vuma for today.
@Afrigirl
Happened again.

Clearly vumatel didn't do anything.

That email most likely reads as "hi I just checked and the backhaul seems fine" even though it's an intermittent issue.

Please escalate. The thought if another week of dcing from client calls has me very nervous

As a Cool Ideas refuge, after the first month has now passed I'm happy to report that all has been good so far.
(Other than the usual random internet dips which is due to Frogfoot failures).

Thank you.

Excellent,
I'd be happy to add a ticket to the list if that helps. (I just don't want to go through the T1 support process)

Exactly, everytime they say they have reported it to MetroFbre, and yet nothing happens.
If it was a fault with Metrofibre, I would think that my brother on Mweb would also have the same issues....

Tired of this, paying for 1gbps line and only getting max 5 to 10mbps with 45ms ping...
That is what I get as well. Upload always fine. @Afrigirl can you please look into this.

Morning @AfriNatic / @Afrigirl ,
Hope you can help with this as I saw someone else also had this issue and you apparently sorted it.
I have a new Metrofibre installation, it's supposed to be on the 250Mbps package but upload and download is stuck at around 5Mbps since installation (around 7 days now). As far as I'm concerned this is not a complete installation since it's not working yet, Afrihost billing department disagrees though.

Two of my neighbours are struggling with the same issue (all installed on the same day).
Based on the previous post about this Afrinatic had the ONT re-provisioned, whatever that means.

Can you please sort this out?

Hello.
Please drop me a PM with your account number or email address. I will log it with Metrofibre.

@Afrigirl What's the process of troubleshooting a possible Frogfoot line issue?

With CISP, I would see when things dropped based on the PPPoE session, but with Afrihost it's DHCP, so a minute or two outage doesn't reflect on the DHCP lease session.

You can eliminate the router and dial-up PPPoe to the ONT to troubleshoot an FF line on PPPoE.

@Afrigirl I know you have a meeting with vuma scheduled, just letting you know that the Ferndale area has dropped again.

@Afrigirl
Thanks for taking a look into this.
I'm sure myself and @NickZA_ will keep an eye on it.
Do you know, more or less what time they made those adjustments?
