Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

OpenServe doesn't either, just find an email and spam it, I did that when I was on my previous ISP, fixed after a week of spamming 5 emails a day
With all due respect. I'm not paying vumatel for the service. (I mean indirectly they're taking their fair share). But I pay afrihost. So yeah. Afrihost can send 5 emails on my behalf if they have to.

I wish I had a magic email for them. They are fort Knox when it comes to outside communication. If I could contact them, I gladly would. But seeing as the way internet packages work nowadays, you pay the ISP for service and line rental. So I expect them to deal with issues with whomever provides the line.

Idk if it is still in operation: [email protected]

You could DM them on twitter or complain There they’d help since it’s a public platform

And if you still don’t come right maybe it’s best to cancel and move to an LTE service or have one as a backup

Best solution is move somewhere, where you have the option of a different FNO.

Not always practical, but yeah it is what it is ...
Yeah it's really frustrating. My area is covered by openserve.
I've tried getting them to install for months with no luck.
They've probably buggered up the area fiber so it cannot serve my place because its a relatively new development and knowing them they didn't account for something being built here.

Openserve fiber has been 280 meters from me for well over 10 years. A number of years ago I requested a quote to bring the fiber to our complex, the amount was R76 000.00 then. They would put it past 6 other complexes, who would only pay R1000.00 to get fiber. Said no thank you.

Now it seems Frogfoot want to put fiber in the area, holding thumbs.

Can only hope frogfoot is better than vuma. Else your in for a **** time.

My net died again now. So most likely gonna be this way the whole day.

Don't think Frogfoot are the greatest, but somewhat better than Vuma, it would seem.
Frogfoot much better than they use to be during covid times, covid times were absolutely terrible for them, they expanded way to quickly

Hello. Att. Ferndale Clients

I think frogfoot has definitely matured and stabilised, in the last 3 years it become very solid.
Before then there was quite few issues, but in the last 3 years I've been down once from a Saturday morning to early Sunday morning.

Hey @AfriNatic @Afrigirl

Been speaking with another user on this forum also from KZN since beginning September.
Who is planning on switching to CISP.
If this doesn't actually get resolved.

And what seems to be empty promises for 1 month now?

For the NLD between DBN and JNB to be properly upgraded.

It broke again the 27th of September, 28th of September and 30th of September same issue from 19H00 to 21H00 PM.
3 days in a row now.

From 15 ping to 45 ping? Congested/Capacity constraints still?

Like we said this affects all local gaming to JNB and Cape Town servers.

We getting 45-50 ping to JHB and 70-90 Ping to Cape Town and packet loss because we get routed from KZN to JHB to Cape Town when this NLD breaks its horrible in the evenings.

Meanwhile people in Cape Town or JHB have 5 ping 15 ping to local servers.
This is clearly a disadvantage for KZN users.

Our normal ping to JHB 15 ping and Cape Town 35 ping when ever this congested NLD thing doesn't break in the evenings.

This is very frustrating as you did notify us plenty times that its going to be upgraded.

Thanks

Same thing from my side in Pretoria,
Really annoying every night between 19:00 and around 22:00.
Running through MetroFibre. My Brother lives 2 blocks from me, and is also on Metrofibre, just using Mweb, and he never gets this issue

Happened again just now. They have not fixed the issue. Can you please follow up again with them?

Hi that's fortunate and very unfortunate.

Things were fine until about 5 minutes ago.

Seems it's down again.

Please can you escalate accordingly :)

@Afrigirl
I suggest they send some sort of proof that they actually did anything.

They probably checked the link at that time lol

@Afrigirl
Happened again.

Clearly vumatel didn't do anything.

That email most likely reads as "hi I just checked and the backhaul seems fine" even though it's an intermittent issue.

Please escalate. The thought if another week of dcing from client calls has me very nervous

Same with me. Maybe time to move ISP. Doesn't help to complain, then it just gets worse. It does not seem that they can resolve this issue as it has been like this for weeks.

Exactly, everytime they say they have reported it to MetroFbre, and yet nothing happens.
If it was a fault with Metrofibre, I would think that my brother on Mweb would also have the same issues....

Tired of this, paying for 1gbps line and only getting max 5 to 10mbps with 45ms ping...
