Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Hey @AfriNatic @Afrigirl

Been speaking with another user on this forum also from KZN since beginning September.
Who is planning on switching to CISP.
If this doesn't actually get resolved.

And what seems to be empty promises for 1 month now?

For the NLD between DBN and JNB to be properly upgraded.

It broke again the 27th of September, 28th of September and 30th of September same issue from 19H00 to 21H00 PM.
3 days in a row now.

From 15 ping to 45 ping? Congested/Capacity constraints still?

Like we said this affects all local gaming to JNB and Cape Town servers.

We getting 45-50 ping to JHB and 70-90 Ping to Cape Town and packet loss because we get routed from KZN to JHB to Cape Town when this NLD breaks its horrible in the evenings.

Meanwhile people in Cape Town or JHB have 5 ping 15 ping to local servers.
This is clearly a disadvantage for KZN users.

Our normal ping to JHB 15 ping and Cape Town 35 ping when ever this congested NLD thing doesn't break in the evenings.

This is very frustrating as you did notify us plenty times that its going to be upgraded.

Thanks

Morning @Afrigirl @AfriNatic its now the Fifth day in a row since the upgrade was meant to have been done 22nd September.
Peak hours 19:00PM to 22:00PM now with school holidays is the perfect time to analyze latency/traffic congestion and upgrade accordingly from Durban to JNB.

Can we please receive a update on this matter.

Hello.
Capacity was added to the NLD, but there is still an issue, and our upstream providers are looking into it.

I recently transitioned my internet service to Afrihost, and the migration process took place on Sunday. Initially, everything seemed to be working smoothly, as I had internet access for most of that day. However, since then, I've been faced with a persistent issue of no connectivity. Regrettably, the support team at Afrihost has been unable to assist me in resolving this problem, leaving me in a state of frustration.

In an effort to regain my internet access and continue my work, I've requested that Afrihost release my line so that I can seek an alternative service provider. Surprisingly, they have declined my request, citing a binding contract that extends until the 1st of December. This raises a perplexing question: how can they retain the ability to hold me to a contract when they are unable to rectify the service issues I'm experiencing?

At this point, I've reached a stage where I'm willing to pay for two months of service that they haven't been able to provide, just to regain control of my line. The impact of this situation is profound, as I rely on this internet connection to work from home and earn a living. Unfortunately, it seems that Afrihost is indifferent to the difficulties I'm facing.

If anyone in the forum has encountered a similar situation or knows of a way to expedite the release of my line from Afrihost, I would greatly appreciate your insights. I'm at a point where I'm eager to sever ties with this company and find a more reliable internet solution. Your assistance and advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @jrseggie
I am sorry to hear that the service has not been what you expected. Please drop me a PM with your email address or ticket ID so I can have a look.

Hi @Afrigirl
I noticed last night a small hiccup, so far today I haven't noticed any disconnects.

Here's hoping.

Man you been on this disconnect journey for ages! Hope this is the light at the end of the tunnel internet friend!

Haha my man, thanks!

Yeah for a few months, it was happening, maybe once a day, or so, so wasn't too bad, last week multiple times a day sometimes even an hour.
So far today.... seems like we're in the clear but trying to not get my hopes up lol

Halo @Afrigirl @AfriGuy
My internet is sick, broken and not stable.
I am frustrated.

Please Help
