Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

I cancelled my Afrihost fibre line to move to a different ISP. The cancellation is effective 1 January and according to Afrihost the line is still active with them. I have no internet since 1 December and have been in contact with Afrihost support, they opened a ticket in Wednesday. I followed up today and they are still investigating.

@AfriNatic @Afrigirl what do I do?

I'm beginning to think that they are making me suffer because I cancelled.

Hi

Can you please drop me a pm with your email address so I can have a look for you?

As of the 1st of December Vumatel has implemented a 30 days cancellation policy for all ISP's

Looks like the object was forced released and is now active with Cool Ideas.
Really? I chatted on WhatsApp a few times with Afrihost support and asked them this. They said the line is still with Afrihost. I have been in contact with Cool Ideas as well, will check with them again.

The support team might have missed it but this object is 100% active with Cool Ideas.

Looks like it's only going to get better with Afrihost and loadshedding.

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic

It's really quite ridiculous at this point, every single night there is packet loss and unstable connection, I cannot play online games, I cannot watch Twitch without the connection dropping every minute, I cannot watch YouTube without constant buffering - what is going on and is anything being done to resolve this?

Great when your 200Mb connection is so poor the connection to your companies local VPN server times out.

Its a pity I'm just out of their 60-day guarantee, explains the current level of service.

Morning.
Please accept our apology for the inconvenience caused during this period. A workaround has been applied with Vuma for the Vuma Villages Network; if your line is experiencing high latency and intermittent, we will need to log a fault with Vuma.

Hey.

I've sold my property and busy in the process of moving. I know Afrihost has a relocate option. Both FNOs will be MFN. Problem is, there will be a month when I sit in limbo before moving in to the new place.

@Afrigirl, what would be the best way to proceed since it's not cancel and reapply other side right away, due to the month in between. Would the relocate option still work?

Hi.

You may proceed with the relocation option in clientzone, and select the date you would like the new services to be active. We place the order week before the selected date. The cancellation policy will still apply to the currently active line.
(Any cancellations done before the 15th of the month will take effect at the end of that month. Cancellations done after the 15th of the month will only be effective from the end of the following month.)
Before you request the relocation, try to check whether the new property has an ONT installed.
