Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

@Afrigirl @cavedog

You guys aware of any Frogfoot issues on your NNI side?

Another user, same area as me, same FNO didn't have this spike in latency and then dead line for a little bit

Very small drop on the traffic for the same duration but I don't see any unicast flooding which is usually the cause for this.

Hi all. This may not be the right place to put this, but some of my streaming services are saying I am using a VPN. But I am not. Google search says, possibly, my public IP address is listed as a VPN? Not sure why that would be? I am using google DNS. Have tried Afrihost DNS. Same issue. Have rebooted router. No change.
Services affected are Disney and Dstv stream. So is it a network problem?
Internet works perfectly though, just need the gurus on this forum to point me in the right direction.

Hi

We are aware of the issue. We are not blocking anything or have any issue on our Network.

DSTV/Multichoice and Disney's security vendor https://www.geocomply.com/ decided to list a large amount of our IP space as abuse or vpn IP's which is causing the block.

Ironically these providers also don't support IPv6, so they mark our very limited v4 space as abuse due to NAT but don't support IPv6.

Did you guys give a huge free speed boost? I'm seeing a lot faster download times from this morning to EU.

Anyone had a fibre cable repaired by MFN ? What did it cost you ?

My garden boy nicked the rather shallow installed cable when removing top soil for new grass.

They will quote you when they come out. Have support log a ticket for you for infrastructure damage.

@AfriNatic @Afrigirl Can you possibly find out why the NLD between PE and CPT has been going down constantly in PE?
Makes no sense how it has gone down over 6+ times in less than a month

Anybody else go down in PE MFN?

Yeah had a dip, restarted router + ONT and it's fine now

Morning

Switch was rebooted this morning to fix an issue with low optic levels

Aiiiiii, node down again between PE -> CPT. :(

So sluggish on MFN again

Backhaul links are down again. Vendor technicians en-route to test the distance of the disconnection. Traffic routed via JHB.
