Something up with afrihost dns? had to switch to be able to browse or connect to anything.

I changed DNS earlier and it worked for a bit. Down again now...router doesn't seem to be able to get an IP though, so DNS won't be making a difference either way.lol
 
Just wanted to ask is anyone having problems with unstable pubg mobile ping? Only during the night and only been happening the last few days. International and local ping & speed seem to stable. Does anyone know how to find pubg mobile Europe and RSA server ip address to ping to

This is on a rsa server. Just randomly drops and all my friends & teamates are fine. Other games run 100%
 
So this is a question for anyone with network knowledge. I have a friend hosting a game server on his home connection for us.

We tried to whitelist my external IP for his port forwarding. That didn't work, so we removed the whitelist and then it worked. So then we took a shot and torched his interface to see what IPs are all connecting.

So here's the weird thing, and where I lack some knowledge. For some reason, I get a 102.x.x.x as my public IP, the router confirms this along with some external sites, but on his side he sees an IP of 100.x.x.x when I attempt to connect to him. So when we added the 100.x.x.x to the whitelist, everything worked.

We're both on Afrihost if that makes a difference. Why would he see a different IP when I connect to his server than what is my external IP?

100.x.x.x isn't an internal range as far as I know, and it's not something that's configured on the router either. Assume it's some of AH's ranges?

If you have a 100.x.x.x IP, you are behind a CGNAT, multiple people will be using that IP

The 100 range is a natted IP for your connection. It routes to a public IP ie 102.x.x.x shared by other connections.

You can ask Afrihost to provide you an unnatted IP.
