Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

But you are expecting AfriNatic and Afrigirl to be on here 24/7 and have no personal life, that's why I called you out, stop crying like a little kid
My comment was in reference to the actual ticket (typically within a few hours) not the de facto support on the forum.

But don’t let that get in the way of the white knighting. Post up the shift pattern when you get a sec so we don’t inadvertently upset you the next time.

You're really funny, thanks for the laughs today

This is not fair as the prices were reduced on the website but then went back up.

Will the prices come down for everyone in the 1st of January 2025?

I want to pay less. If I was on a 200/200Mbps I would then get the special on 500/200Mbps.

I am never paying R1597 PM which is R350 more!

How can I get the same speed or less on special and pay less?

@Afrigirl @AfriGuy

How can I get 500/200Mbps for R1027 PM?

Thanks for your help fixing my fibre. I used to want high speed for downloading MSFS2020 as it was 300GB on ever update but MS2024 is steamed so no more big updates to download.

This a screenshot of the prices on the Afrihost website when I received the promo email. I called Afrihost accounts and they confirmed my new price as of 1st January 2025 for 500/200 would be R1027PM but see the prices have gone back up on your website.

Hi.

You are already on a 500/200 line. The Vuma Black Friday promo allows you to upgrade to 1000/500Mbps at a lesser price (R1 597.00). Unfortunately, clients cannot choose their promo speeds; they are based on your current speed.

Prices on the website are back to normal as the promo has ended for new signups.

If I dont upgade with the Black Friday promo what price will I pay in Janyary?

I'm trying to diagnose a connection to 35.159.199.209 but WinMTR and ping are blocked, how would one do this?

Is it just me or is the Xbox app on PC somehow limited with afrihost? Steam and GOG I pretty much get full line speed on downloads, Xbox app it crawls, every single time.

Below post from @cavedog explains it.

Just thought I'd let you know, just got a fake email pretending to be from Afrihost trying to get me to pay for a fake .co.za - it had Afrihost logo and everything but the sent email was not a @Afrihost.com but was a pretty good presentation otherwise. It used the email I use for afrihost. Perhaps Afrihost could warn users quick through a little "beware" email to give them heads up? @Afrigirl @AfriGuy

Email sent from: noreply at taleofdragons.mysidiahost.com
And return-path: taleofdr @ host.mysidiainc.com
- in case that helps any investigation leads.

Hi.

Thanks for the heads-up.
Please share a screenshot of the email.

Anyone else seeing massive ICMP PL to Google primary and secondary DNS resolvers? Seems to be a ICMP filtering rule applied today - DNS queries doesn't share the same fate.
