Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Yeah, YouTube page loading is slow.

Google Maps, satellite view too takes quite a long time to load.

DNS is both Afrihost & Adguard public DNS.
Please switch off adguard DNS just to test and monitor for differences

Will do, but any reason for the erratic ping replies & "packet loss" on the first 2 hops?
There's no loss at the destination.
Once you see loss to 8.8.8.8 that is when loss on the other hops can be suspicious.

Now traffic is traveling through that gateway devices without issue. It's just dropping some of the packets that is directed directly at it but others going through it is fine.

What's with the EX511 just kicking back to Dynamic IP after a few minutes of working on PPPOE...

Please reset. The default setting is on, so you need to switch it off before the router connects to the internet to prevent the auto-configuration from being pushed. The best way to do this is to reset and plug the Ethernet from the WAN into a PC or laptop. Then, log into the router and switch TR-069 off.

Hi @AfriNatic - Any updates on this? I am in need to get that static IP back asap.
Hi.

That has not been resolved yet. However, the team has advised that we can re-assign the static IP.
Please let me know if I can go ahead.

Got around to it today. Thanks for the assist.

BTW those instructions aren't entirely correct for the EX511.

For future use or people searching:

-Disconnect the router's WAN cable.
-PC should then be connected to LAN port, not WAN.
-Reset the router. I prefer the little physical reset button with a toothpick on the back.
-TR-069/CWMP does not appear for normal user login, but rather "superadmin" only, accessible by default at 192.168.0.1/superadmin
-Log in > Advanced > System Tools > CWMP > CWMP Off/Inform Off

I also turned off TR-369, saw a profile, had details and so on, no clue if you guys are actually using it though...so...Yoinked it.

Please do - Let me know once done so I can test or advise to rollback if the service drops.

Static IP has been allocated.
Hi - The issue remains - Please revert - unable to establish VPN tunnels (like we were able before. This is critical to the service. Once reverted, please let me know and kindly prioritize resolution (like it used to work prior to your BNG/L2TP changes WITH the static IP.)
