I purchased a townhouse and it had a VUMA box in it already, so I applied for internet through Afrihost, they processed my application and sent me my router, told me my line was active and was told to test, it failed so then I reported no internet, apparently the issue is on VUMA's side, Afrihost trying to escalate but its not happening fast enough, I do a lot of work from home and need internet ASAP, this is going on since Wed last week.

Still struggling to get this resolved by VUMA.

NOTICE:

We are doing emergency maintenance in CPT. We are moving servers and equipment to new cabinets.

NAT will be intermittent as we move nat boxes one by one. Youtube caches will be intermittent. We have 2 caches that will stay operational in CPT during the move so impact will be minimal but it might be slower than normal when served from JHB.

We are working through the night and maintenance will be done by 5am tomorrow. Apologies for any issues experienced.

Just to add to this. It seems to be a Frogfoot issue. A colleague of mine (that lives a couple of blocks over) has the same drops at the same time. However he is with Frogfoot - Vox

Yes, @Joseph_ is right, GPON, VUME AE.
is this the outage you’ve reported at ~9 this morning? Is there a ETR for the outage? Is it related to DFA backhaul?

Please drop me a pm with your email address so I can have a look for you and see if it's related to the outages reported.

PM sent. Please check, would like to log a VUMA ticket asap if it’s not related to the outage.

There is a major outage on Vuma AE but just a few VV issues reported.
Yeah I have had around 5 drops in the last hour. I really do wonder if i switch back to Afrihost if these drops will stop with DHCP compared to PPPoE or if I will still have packet loss like before

That's a shame. My Openserve fibre is basically stuffed here in PE.

Is speeds one of the issues?
