Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

How long do speed upgrades usually take to process? I upgraded this morning, but it's still pending.

No rush, just curious since the app mentioned it would be immediate.

Did you try rebooting router and ONT?

Switch your router off, wait awhile, switch it on again. Maybe?

We place the upgrade automatically via api depending on the FNO and our system waits for confirmation before we process the upgrade on our side.

Drop me a pm so I can check for you the status.

@AfriNatic @Afrigirl What is going on? MFN

I was wondering the same thing. Sites loading slowly on and off. MFN but in DBN.
I'm in PTA so it affected a massive area. Mine is back to normal just wish they would tell us if they're fixing something or doing maintenance.

Yes same here, in KZN on Openserve as well.

Using the ezviz app. Hikvision also won't connect. Connecting the DVR to a Vodacom LTE router and using the same phone, no problems works 100%.

Connecting the DVR back to the Afrihost connection on Openserve, can't access the cameras.

I am unsure of what server the DVR is trying to reach, no IP or Hostname listed in the settings, so I can't even run a trace route...
Try using Afrihost ddns for the server.

It is your fibre username.ip.afrihost.co.za

Ie. inoone.ip.afrihost.co.za

Hi @AfriNatic @Afrigirl

I have been getting latency and speed issues on Metrofibre in Pietermaritzburg during the evenings for the past week. Tried rebooting both ONT and Router multiple times and running PC direct to ONT, but still get the same issue.
During the day the connection is perfect.

@Afrigirl can you confirm the latest firmware version for the EX511 V2.0? Seems TP-L don't provide it online.

Is current latest, 0.4.0 3.0.0 v607e.0 Build 231108 Rel.5398n ?

Shot, dot.

Hi.

When logged into the Tplink App, do you have Firmware updates?
Or you can log in to the router to check for updates.

I've checked in the router using the "check update" feature, and no update.

I ask since usually with the ISP-handled routers, updates aren't pushed out until requested. I was mostly asking since my previous ISP used to do this, where I'd have to ask manually for an update.

I see you guys have changed your pathing for KZN, @AfriNatic . I mentioned it in a message to @Afrigirl.
MyBB speed test now shows "Afrihost Other" instead of "Afrihost Fibre".

Maybe it's just placebo, but I swear ping to the one EU-based game I play is down ~4ms.

Luckily I had some traces from testing the other day to compare.

I see a massive reduction in hops, and lower ping. I hope this is something permanent going forward.

Did you guys drop the CG-NAT or something? I swear WAN IP used be in the 100.x range, and I see it there on the second hop in the "before" shot. WAN IP is now 169.x, and shows up in IP checker sites as the same.

I'm seeing much lower
