Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread

It does seem like that to me, but these pure fibre packages aren't supposed to have usage thresholds or shaping. Its very weird because few things are running fine like steam, i fired up a download and it was going full speed but then it could be because steam uses multiple threads. My internet speeds atm mirror the speedtest images above, anything outside of cape town is significantly slower than what it should be.

Edit:
Tried a 1gb webafrica account and im getting the same crap speeds.

Edit 2:
I feel like an idiot, it was a tcp scaling issue which i assume was caused by installing hamachi. Auto tuning was set to disabled and upon re-enabling it, it fixed the issue

Was going to say there is no throttling and I made sure to test that

Having an unlimited google drive with a fast uncapped fibre line is epic but usage is crazy

Damn, mine is measly in comparison and this is usage of 4 people combined.

@AfriMan. Am going to consolidate my current LTE and Fibre costs together and move across to the Pure Fibre package. I know I will have to give my current ISP's the 30 days notice. When in this notice period do I sign up with Afrihost? At cancellation, or at end of cancellation period? I would like to avoid double billing as far as possible. TIA

Don't feel bad - these technical things always take a minute to figure out :)

Best to sign up with us first, so that we can manage the migration quickly from the old provider to us. You can also cancel with them and pay their cancellation penalty for immediate cancellation. We will credit whatever you pay them back to your Afrihost account, so you get additional credit before you have to pay us.

Looks like there is no general issue in the area. Got one of our fibre experts having a look. Can you please double check your CPE and router? Everything seems OK at first glance.

Hey, organised someone to phone me at 5, but all the service lights on the CPE are working. I have attemped to connect the computer via ethernet direct to the CPE but I am not getting assigned a IP address.

Cool - we've checked what we can from this side. We'll need to troubleshoot now - so will get you that call back :)
