Can you run some tests on your side? Also, which provider are you on?

Octotel, Southern Suburbs. Here's an MTR to Coreix's speedtest server in London. It's usually a flat 142ms, now 208ms on average:

140ms is pretty low for UK - I usually see around 160ms at best. I think our NOC team would concerned if you're consistently seeing 200ms+.

We ran some tests on our side last night, everything seemed pretty much normal.

Stable again this morning, so a comparison for reference:

Check the post before this one and compare to the one from last night - I'm not imagining things :)

On second glance, that's actually a pretty disturbing statement. Your NOC team would only become concerned if latency to EU was SIXTY MILLISECONDS above a known optimal value?

For UK 160-180ms is considered good, to my knowledge. So 200ms+ is not that far off.

From outside of Cape Town, maybe. I wouldn't call 180ms "good" though. 140ms is pretty much average on CISP, Vox and a number of other ISPs I've been with, from Cape Town.

Our NOC team are looking at it. They've said they should be able to replicate this evening and then tell us more.

Routing is still not the brilliant but is better than liquid telecom. If only you guys could match the latency where its 20ms lower (or more) on other isps.

Just activated my Afrihost 50Mbps up/down fibre line, but I'm getting horrible speeds. I'm talking 0.25 Mbps. Is there any router settings I have to change aside from configuring my router to work in Wireless Router Mode? This is with FrogFoot and I am using a TP-Link W8980.

We're still tinkering and optimising, and we're making some other major changes while the network is relatively quiet (thankfully everyone is getting dronk on the client side ;) )

I am sure we'll see things settle into a great experience.

Are these the speeds you are getting over LAN cable (direct into router) or over WiFi?

Probably congestion on Frogfoot side... can check if you have tons of packetloss with an app such as PingTracer or Pingplotter.
If yes, then you know it's a Frogfoot issue and not Afrihost.

Very likely because it'f flying this side. Could also be area related.
